can I place 11 size strings on Cort KX-5? I already did once and tune it to E tone and the frets damaged for seconds :(. If I tune it in Drop C or Drop B will the frets stay undamaged?
so far i've used 9 gauge strings, it lasted me for like 2 years and it still works fine, higher gauge strings will damage the fret wire quickly, be it in whatever tunes..
@wkwlive1 well I placed 11th strings size Ernie Balls and they didn't damage them in dropped B tuning :))). They just shined a little more after playing. But in E tuning I am sure they will start to deform a lot faster ;).
so how does the guitar perform? I know its cheap and lets face it, cheap stuff arent always great in terms of quality. but i've read some fairly good reviews. does it sound good live and while recording? any problems wit its hardware like knobs, tuners, pickup selector, input jack etc? do u think this is as good as or better than an ibanez RG350m or dx?
both guitars are cool, i used ibanez rg370dx before this, and i sold my ibanez after i got this. simply because, it matches my specs required more than ibanez did. especially tuning on a floating bridge of ibanez rg is always a hassle, compared to this fixed bridge, the sustain is sweet and i can tune to whatever alternative tuning that i want whenever i want it. used both guitars for recording, both of them sounds nice too, provided you have a good sound engineer to programme it for you....
it depends on what do you need and how would you like it to sounds like. rg will gives you a more comfortable feel when you do shreddings, no doubt about it, but this guitar have more radius on the neck, so apart from the thin feel for shredding, it's nice to hold some chords and bends as well. so there's actually no better guitar or what in this general question, coz better it might be in a lot of forms, so which is yours?
hmmm...metal zone only gives you a deep tone with a lot of treble and bit of mid tone, you have to use a warmer overdrive to have this sound, or warmer distortion. definitely not distortion for metal riffing...
oh, try with high gain distortion, and as i mentioned earlier, i only use a micro cube in this video, so there's no effect in between except the gain from the amp, use the bridge pickup, and of course you have to grab your pinch harmonics accurately....hope it helps
u play totally like shit, where's the notes? where's the harmony? speed is nothing without beauty. i saw u try to copy gilbert's lick..but u out of shit man....learn gilbert's more....but it's nice guitar anyway man
i have 1 in black its really easy to move ur fingers down the neck and the strings are bendy which i like wat amp would go best with the guitar?????????
thx man, well, since it's quite a versatile guitar, i think it's no problem to play Muse, but just the look i think it's a little bit too 'rock' to play Muse, think a jaguar or a strat or even a tele will look nice......hope it helps.....
Very good! The KX5 can sound good in the hands of a skilled guitarist like you. I like it too, its easy to play, but I still like the sound of my Les Paul more.
hmm les paul, yup les paul has a more beefy tone if you compare it to kx5, i agree, but it can't make the twangy sound like a telecaster, that's the set back, and also it only have 22 frets, but on the beefy heavy tone, i totally agree with you. cheers...
if you ask me, i would rather have a cort kx5 rather than m50, coz it have 24 frets with string through body, which will give you damn nice sustain and also the push pull coil tap, to let you have a single coil tone anytime you like, so basically i think it's a more versatile guitar and powerfull to play hard rock.

@LucaTurilli89 what you mean by damaged? I'm using cort too, plan to use 011 gauge....can you explain what u mean by damaged? :)
TheVesselkyt 6 months ago in playlist More videos from wkwlive1
@TheVesselkyt the frets get shiny (they start to wear out very fast with 11 strings and I mean literally they start to get flat rather than round).

@LucaTurilli89 thanks for the useful info :)

I don't think it is too heavy for muse.
It plays all Muse songs beautifully for me.
Its perfect.
ChrisBradley2901 2 years ago
Thanks but too late i bought an ibanez gsa60 I saw some muse's covers with it and i'm quite a beginner so for me it's a really great guitar
gigile5 2 years ago
I've got a GSA-60 too :)
Very good choice to start out with but I've modified mine with a sustainer in the neck pickup.
ChrisBradley2901 2 years ago
so for a beginner who loves muse like me is it good ??
gigile5 2 years ago
It is.
The humbucker can play all your heavy stuff.
Very good value for money.

What do you think is better a ESP M50 or the Cort KX5 for play hard rock?
I'll use eith a Peavey Vypyr 15 amp

if you ask me, i would rather have a cort kx5 rather than m50, coz it have 24 frets with string through body, which will give you damn nice sustain and also the push pull coil tap, to let you have a single coil tone anytime you like, so basically i think it's a more versatile guitar and powerfull to play hard rock.
