I dont think Mat6:9 is the Lord's Prayer.

The "Lord's prayer" was never prayed by our Lord. It was a pattern for prayer: "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name..."

I believe John 17 was the Lord's Prayer.

It is given by The Lord. see Luke 11:1-4 as well. First in the Sermon on the Mount in Mt. In Luke his disciples said: "Lord, teach us to pray".

The spiritual as well as biblical meanings of the prayer for us loom large depending on our maturity. We meet Our Father, revere Him, dedication to His will, seek Him according to His will for our needs, etc. In John 16 we are commanded to pray in His name.
