@eggobass Those are actually what I've used for years on my other basses and loved them. Finally picked up a set of HiBeams last week for the J and I'm hoping they work out. I agree with the overpriced notion, and I also don't care for coated strings. Thanks a lot for your input!
Just wondering, what Elixer strings would you recommend for a Fender J-Bass?

@TeeAreify DR strings. His set-up advice is top notch. The only problem is that Elixir's sound terrible and are way overpriced.
