start with a small bowl pack, but when you take the hit make sure the entire thing cherries so that the chemicals are released. hold it in for 20 or 30 seconds. with 10x, that should produce a short-lived mild trip and you can get a feel for what its like

Wow, its amazing how salvia effects everyone differently. I had a similar black hole like experience.  I actually fell out of my chair and hit my head on the ground shortly after taking a hit. First, i was running on a huge lawnmower. Then the lawnmower turned into solid birds and i was sinking into bird quicksand. Next my house dissolved and everything began to spiral down into a dark abyss.
