For the malunggay leaves - how would you judge how much a bundle is in terms of some objective measure (like cups)? I don't think I can get fresh ones here, but I understand I can get them frozen. I have some dried mung beans and I want to try this recipe.
pwede nyo rin i-try ang fried tofu instead of meat.. also, mas masarap kung may sliced ginger which is sauteed next to either garlic or onion..for those who find it hard to get ampalaya leaves, or dahon ng sili, or kung ano pa man, spinach leaves will do.. ang sarap-sarap! gustung-gusto ng lahat ng lahi everytime na dadalhin ko dito sa potluck namin sa NC.
it looks like a lazy woman´s recipe! why would you use a ginisa mix full of glutamite and preservatives if you could use normal spices? salt and pepper would taste good with it and using garlic and onion will add good taste...
you can use smoked fish(tinapa) instead of pork to make it more "pinoy-style" plus you can substitute bagoong alamang instead of patis to make it more authentic pinoy meal. =) And also you can use dahon ng ampalaya for this dish. It adds more flavor than malunggay/dahong sili.
yes, kailangan talaga i-boil ang munggo ng maluto maigi at lumambot ito.if u have the budget yes,u can add hipon or karne.thanks for your post!Happy cooking!
