Metallica does it great justice--great version and possibly my favorite cover of a Seger song--but there's is nonetheless a FAR CRY from the original. Seger's the best.

They're both legends. 'Tallica is just from a diferent generation than Seger. They are simply each legends to their respective generations. Some people, like myself, are too young to be from either generation, and like it all! Remember the motto is "Peace Love and Rock n Roll," not "Peace Love and Classic Rock" or even "Peace Love and Metal." Rock is a genre that spans from folk-rock-ish to hard and heavy, and to be a true fan you have to love it all, or at least respect and apreciate it.
