A DIME WITH A HALO about kids in TJ Mexico and how they find a dime to play the horses-they win but the man who was going to pick up there winnings dies inside and the kids are left waiting for him in the parking lot.. I have been trying to located this movie for my daughter for years.Rita plays the older sister to one of the kids.
There is nothing that Rita Moreno can't do. I loved her recent appearance on Law and Order:Criminal Intent playing Det. Bobby Goren's dying mother schizophrenic mother, Frances.
She and the incredible Vincent D'Onofrio hit those scenes out of the ballpark. Why they weren't nominated for their heart-wrenching performances is beyond me!

Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendez, Roslyn Sanchez, Eva Longoria have to thank Ms. Moreno for paving the way and laying the yellow brick row for them. She is a hollywood movie star, not just a mere actor. Rita has achieved eveything that there is to achieve in her art form, few could follow in her foot steps, she is in a class all her own.

I saw Rita Moreno in person about 40 years ago when she came down to an underprivileged Puerto Rican neighborhood to address an assembly. She was holding her baby, Fernanda, about 1 year old, in her arms. She was in her mid 30's and looked 21. In person, she's beautiful and she just glows and radiates energy. She was so sweet and natural. I really admire her. She's now 86 years old - hard to believe! I hope she lives beyond 100 and stays healthy because I think she is just awesome.

I was 17 at the time and worked with inner city underprivileged children that summer. I am now 57. I learned she was born December 11, 1931 Humacao, Puerto Rico. Thanks again for catching that typo. Still, Rita ages remarkably well; nice bone structure and no extra flab. Wish I could say the same for me!
