  • Perfect weapon !

  • For those who say that Ashihara is similar to Kyokushin obviously NEVER spar. Unlike Kyokushin, Ashihara has throwing, grabing, elbow strikes, attack from the side and back. If you ever sparred, you would know what this mean.

  • THE SENSEI'S FIGHTING STYLE LOOKS SO UNIQUE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE COMBINATION OF KARATE AND SOME OF KUNGFU. VERY UNIQUE AND SO COOL-LOOKING..

  • 雰囲気いいなぁ・・・

  • OSU! Great Video. Awesome Japanese Karate.

  • this style is awesome I'm surprised there hasn't been more info on it I have never heard of it until I did a search on Enshin karate. Hideyuki Ashihara was truly a genius he should be mentioned in the same breath as Ed Parker and Bruce Lee

  • @anthonysmith73 Osu. He was a great man, years ahead of this Time. RIP Kancho.

  • seems that circular motion of this style ( =chinese flavour) makes it more versatile than kyukushinkai. both styles are realistic streetwise.

  • @ccthedragon both styles have no hits to the face, so no.

    regards

  • I'll say one word to you...Kyokushin or nothing!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thats three

  • For your information. This is not Kyokushin. This is Ashihara Karate. Completely different style.

  • Yeah sabakisteps I know that's not kyokushin...You see I'm doing kyokushin for 8 years...;)

  • OSU!

  • @AFENTISTHECHOSEN This is Kyokushin plus grabbing techniques, just like Enshin. Kyokushin is awesome, but I feel like this is Kyokushin plus

  • Ashihara Kancho both was, and taught, KyokushinKaiKan karate, until he broke and founded his own style, FYI...not completely different, very much similar background.

  • @sabakisteps I would hardly say completely different, the founder was a kyokushin karate-ka who wanted emphasis on sabaki...btw which is a concept on kyokushin but is THE concept in ashihara.

  • @sabakisteps completely different my ass.

  • @sabakisteps Completely different ??? R you lost ?

  • @sabakisteps its not completely different .... but it is different, it still came from kyokushin

  • @sabakisteps Not completely different. Let's be honest that it is an offshoot of Kyokushin founded by one of it's top instructors after breaking away. True that Ashihara emphasized more of the circular movements mostly ignored by Kyokushin once tournaments made Kyokushin more world recognized. But Ashihara taught what was taught to him by Oyama Sosai.

  • @sabakisteps We can, however, in all fairness say it is a completely different organization than Kyokushin. That would be a more accurate statement.

  • @sabakisteps

not really completely different lol. It is an offshoot and if you were going to say any two martial arts are similar than kyokushin and Ashihara are just about as close as you can get.

  • Kancho Ashihara trained in and taught Kyokushin until '78 or '79. In Ashihara and Enshin there is more emphasis on kumite forms in early training. Kancho Ashihara developed more circular motion in his system, too.

  • agree
