Actually to further more show the gtr dominates it, check out some nurburgring lap times, even blitz's 600bhp supra posted a lap time, which is still 20 or so seconds slower then a stock current gtr with less hp, and more weight. Get your facts straight, a gtr is built as a race car for the street, and supra is a gt car.
@TakeItSideways ok looked up the blitz supra it set a time of 7:49. way back in 1997 with 606hp the car was built and tested at 740hp but ran a 606hp on that day.. now lets jump the to 2008 a 550hp and AWD GTR set a lap time of 7:54. remember the supra tech is from 1992 and the GTR is from 2008.. why GTR did not go straight up to the LFA?? the LFA is just a N/A 4.8, RWD, 6 gear with a single clutch gear box...
At this time the gtr wins due to technology, the supra is almost a 20 year old car (depending on tour year) it has old technology. You guys have no idea how R&D went into the gtr just so it can put all it's power to the ground. The 2jz will always be legendary, but it's old technology. All these 1000+ hp supras are as fast 700hp supras due to the fact that they can't put all that power to wheels without spinning, once again the advantage of technology.
@killem89 Technology has little to do with it. Its where the power is sent that is the problem. RWD vs AWD. Even modern day RWD cars like Vettes and Vipers have traction problems.
the answer is simple run R888's on the rears and do boost by gear, done deal. If this supra were wearing em, it would be a bus length ahead by the top of 5th.

@BrooklynSupraVin I would say it is still a skyline even though nissan just uses the version now as name GT-R.. its next one in line up R35. Dont know why you say doesnt have same engine. Manufacters are always changing engines updating to stay with the times.. Early skylines were 4cylinders and 2.0 and 2.4L.. R33 when they went to the RB series engine. Only one that wasnt a real skyline was the Infinity G35 versions
The 2JZ is a legend! It stands the test of time to this day. It just happens that the Supra is a good match for it. The 2JZ was built in a time when fuel consumption wasnt as big of a deal, and the pressure from Nissan and its RB forced Toyota to compete. The 2JZ was a stand out, and to this day still is. Toyota went the full hog with the 2JZ. You dont see engines built like it these days. Its built for crazy power, and forced induction. Respect where respect is due! Long live the 2JZ!!!!!

new technology in the GTR would definately make up for the HP from a dig or low roll. its putting the power down to the pavement where it counts and engine response is ridiculous. The supra for its time will always be a beast. But you can't always make up with hp while being the old guy with old technology. it will catch up to you eventually. One things for sure though, it'll always be the king of burnouts and leave 100 foot tire marks at 70 mph lol.

Its not the fact that the car does not make boost. its the 1000HP thats the problem. You cant put that down to the pavement in low gears due to gears multiply the TQ of the engine. The rear wheels acturally see 3000fts of TQ instead of 1000ftlb the engine is making......

@speedoracle Supra's are best left stock, when modified they are completely terrible with major turbo lag and bad traction problems. With equal power the Nissan GTR would leave the Supra in the dust, mainly due to the GTR having better traction, perfect turbo's and perfect gear changes.

@BrooklynSupraVin I would say it is still a skyline even though nissan just uses the version now as name GT-R.. its next one in line up R35. Dont know why you say doesnt have same engine. Manufacters are always changing engines updating to stay with the times.. Early skylines were 4cylinders and 2.0 and 2.4L.. R33 when they went to the RB series engine. Only one that wasnt a real skyline was the Infinity G35 versions

The 2JZ is a legend! It stands the test of time to this day. It just happens that the Supra is a good match for it. The 2JZ was built in a time when fuel consumption wasnt as big of a deal, and the pressure from Nissan and its RB forced Toyota to compete. The 2JZ was a stand out, and to this day still is. Toyota went the full hog with the 2JZ. You dont see engines built like it these days. Its built for crazy power, and forced induction. Respect where respect is due! Long live the 2JZ!!!!!

i only say look at the different time periods these cars were build in, sure the gtr would on paper walk over a supra and it's because it has been developed in a different era of new technology. if you compare the prices and these cars along with mod costs i'd say even if the GTR would have won this one, my hats of to the supra mk4, still powerful street beast after 18 years in existence. for better comparison between toyota and nissan try the lexus LFA vs GTR, that's fair in this era techwise.

new technology in the GTR would definately make up for the HP from a dig or low roll. its putting the power down to the pavement where it counts and engine response is ridiculous. The supra for its time will always be a beast. But you can't always make up with hp while being the old guy with old technology. it will catch up to you eventually. One things for sure though, it'll always be the king of burnouts and leave 100 foot tire marks at 70 mph lol.

lol thats why supra owners dont do races from 40....
we are smarter than that.
with equal power the gtr would not walk on the supra. it ALL depends on the HP curve.
supras most singles make power up top so they take advantage of gearing and keep accelerating..... so unless the new skyline is all HP up top with out taking a TQ dive.... it wont be "walking" on any supra.
gota see the HP charts before we make any sweeping statements about walking on people.... thats just silly.

Its not the fact that the car does not make boost. its the 1000HP thats the problem. You cant put that down to the pavement in low gears due to gears multiply the TQ of the engine. The rear wheels acturally see 3000fts of TQ instead of 1000ftlb the engine is making......

GTR= 4WD. more drivetrain, more powerloss.

@speedoracle Supra's are best left stock, when modified they are completely terrible with major turbo lag and bad traction problems. With equal power the Nissan GTR would leave the Supra in the dust, mainly due to the GTR having better traction, perfect turbo's and perfect gear changes.
