The ranger in this vid is terrible. He can't weapon switch at all, and he used a longbow in a close range fight when he could've switched to shortbow for more CC.

@WhatNameShouldITake Any class can be 'powerful' depending on your weapon choice and skill usage. Remember, this game requires more thinking than other MMOs.

@Seguris Thank you very much for responding. But I didn't specify my concern correctly. The Thief has the cluster-bomb, an attack that makes an explosion, and the Worriers hammer makes the screen shake. But the ranger doesn't have anything similar, does he?

@WhatNameShouldITake I'm not too sure if Rangers will have 'explosive' or 'screen shaking' skills, however it doesn't mean that they aren't powerful. Rangers have many shots and AOEs that can do a lot of damage. For example with the longbow you can use Hunter's Shot (makes a target vulnerable) and then use Rapid Fire (Single target) or long range shot(farther the shot, the more dmg) for single target burst. AOE skills such as Barrage and poison spray(spread shot of poison with the shortbow)

@WhatNameShouldITake In regard to defensive abilities, they're mostly available to close range weapon choices- Whirling defence (with axe, deflecting attacks), Crippling and Concussion Shot (with shortbow) Hilt Bash (GreatSw, Stuns from behind + pet does double dmg) which can be used after activating Feral signet (pets atks are turned to crits) and of course traps such as Frost(-66% speed) and Spike Trap (cripples+bleeds). Rangers can be very powerful with a vast combination of abilities.

@the1tigglet I'm not sure since I don't know alot about the game, but by judging that on the guildwars2 site it says that there are 12 different types of pets that the ranger can have, it would make sense that you'd tame them.

I always liked having combat pets. Problem is they are in most of the games buggy (even world of warcraft) or simply just auto-do everything..

Im wondering though if it will be hard to master how to control your pet and manage your own movement / skills.

I wish people would stop calling necro minions or engineer turrets pets, they're not pets. Only ranger has pets. Necro minions were not pets in Guild Wars 1 no reason to call them pets in Guild Wars 2. And turrets are machines.

Betaed SWTOR... wow clone with new paint... noticed it after the honeymoonish feeling flaked off around planet 3 and realized i was just doing the same quests over and over... just with voice overs.
