Uhh about a year ago the entire world was on edge because they were afraid the US was going to war with Russia over Georgia, with Iran, that Iraq would never end, Muslim hatred was on the rise, and Israel and Palestine was a boiling pot. Today not only have those things changed, but we are in constructive dialogue with not only Iran and Russia, but also the Obama administration is respected by the Muslim world and the rest of the world in general. Uhh, it's just their opinion, but I can see why.

It is not unusual for the peace prize to people who have not accomplished goals. Desmound Tutu won it far before aparteid was removed, It was givin to Yassir Arafat for starting peace talks that never came to fruition.

the is speculation kev, but this could also be a ploy to keep Obama at bay and not deploy troops to other countries that are America's "friends." Take Pakistan for example, their "pentagon" as they call it in Pakistan, was attacked yesterday and like 10 people died.

Obama could sign the release forms to deploy troops to help them out, but then that wouldn't be "peaceful" and he'd lose the Noble Peace Prize.

This award was an "Aspirational" Nobel Peace Prize, simply stating that he is being awarded for wanting to do as much as he can while he's in office. It's like a teacher who reinforces a student that they can succeed. By doing so hope it's even more of a motivation to continue working towards a better tomorrow. He want's a lot of good things to happen and is really pushing the hardest he can to obtain those things. It may be political, it may be altruistic, but they thought he deserved it.
