The point is, anyone with eminence gris in any profession will always put their money and faith on experience.

Hypothetically, if we each sent a re-enforced battalion size unit to seek out Hezzbolah in Beruit or Lebanon, our troops with previous combat experience and leadership would fare much better. We learned that lesson from Kasserine, Guadal Canal,Task Force Smith, and Ia Drang Valley.

Any developing country's special forces would pose a significant challenge to any other country's special forces. My apologies, but I meant that every MARINE must learn to become a rifleman after passing recruit training. Surely you know this after attending SOI that they are separated into ITB's and MCT B's, however not many people do. Also, feedback is appreciated but should be carefully thought out. Please put some effort into your language filtering.

they are not marines. but in terms of drill they are the best in the world. it could be about culture... but no other military marches the way these guys do... any US drill team looks like theyre moonwalking in comparison, while other european drill teams look too much like north korea - extending their feet too much... and not to mention, these guys do their drill with the weapon the way it is/was intended to be..

The norwegian standard is way better than the US, not because we are awsome or anything like that, but because we have a much smaller army and much more money to spend per soldier. The norwegian rules of engagement is more or less the same as the US. But our traning is way better, because we dont have 500 000 to train!

The U.S. Army has units ready to fight anytime in: urban areas, jungles, deserts, and mountains. Our politicians have us fighting with our hands tied behind our backs, and we are still kicking ass and taking names. So your Army is best, prove it.

But when when you say teh norwegians are better equipped is where i can. the F-22 is the most advance fighter in the world. The SEALS are no doubt in the top 3 well trained/elite special forces in the world. The m1 abrams isone of the most advanced tanks in the world if not the most. i think america would still win a 1:1 fight srry

Just now the Norwegian Airforce is beeing updated with brand new aircraft (the JAS Gripen) that is still beeing tested by norwegian pilots the norewgian spec ops the HK016 is mean to counter the US seals and the Russian SPETNAZ, im sorry but 1:1 we win, and in training we have proven that fact!

@Pbafterlife 2 Things, since the F-22 raptor is the the most advanced fighter, the U.S. would control the air, which is HUGE. secondly you say in "training" you have proven the fact. But training and the real deal are two very different things. The US definitely has xp in the field, (land air and sea). w/ control of the air a countless # of drones cold be flown in to take out your leopards and w/out tank support your spec ops wouldnt really have a chance against an armored division. The aircraft is about 20% of the battel the rest is enviorement and ofc the pilot! So airspace is not said that you will rule, pluss Norway has a large arsenal of surface to air missiles. The Leopard is on the same line as the Abrams, the JAS Gripen has simmelar abilities as the F22, and our infantery is better trained, we win 1:1

@TheBoss9291 im not here to start a fight, but i just wanted to comment on the part about your SEALs. From what i've understood they arent as hardcore and badass as the movies would like u to think. Im not saying they suck or anything, but the norwegian special forces are counted among the worlds elite. Even outranking the SEALs. And for the rest; Im a norwegian myself, but i would still say the US would kick norways ass in any theoretical war that may never happen.

Nationalism is all very good and fine as long as it never causes you to actually test your collective theories. The basic truth of the matter is; once both 'sides' have reached a fairly standard level of professionalism, its the circumstances that will decide the outcome. i.e. Tactics, who had the initiative etc. Any developing country can afford weapons and equipment if wanted.

@nqazadukes well, i wouldnt say i disrespected the SEALs. I only stated that the SEALs arent the most badass special forces unit in the world. The US have time and time again asked for assistanse from the norwegian Navy Ranger Commandoes to help them out in Afghanistan. They even got the United States Navy Presidential Unit Citation for theire actions against taliban. That was just one nationalistic example from me though. And why would navy SEALs come slaughter us? I though we were allies...

Any developing country's special forces would pose a significant challenge to any other country's special forces. If it were a 'computer game' style showdown you would doubtlessly see some very erratic results. It would be a stalemate between all but the very best VS the very worst of forces. And even then it would be because of poor leadership and morale rather than individual talent.

@unclerukus2 Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I believe that you must earn the title MARINE and to do that you must pass Recruit Training. Recruit -> MARINE. My apologies, but I meant that every MARINE must learn to become a rifleman after passing recruit training. Surely you know this after attending SOI that they are separated into ITB's and MCT B's, however not many people do. Also, feedback is appreciated but should be carefully thought out. Please put some effort into your language filtering.

they are not marines. but in terms of drill they are the best in the world. it could be about culture... but no other military marches the way these guys do... any US drill team looks like theyre moonwalking in comparison, while other european drill teams look too much like north korea - extending their feet too much... and not to mention, these guys do their drill with the weapon the way it is/was intended to be..
