ok i just bought my dirtbike and started it up and shifted into first and started moving forward slowly tomake sure it works than killed the motor in gear due to the fact that i was about to his the house. i then shifted it into neutral while the bike was still off. then i wanted to practice shifting gears while bike was off so i held in clutch and shifted into first, but what seems to happen is that it wont stay in first gear,it actualy pops right back up into neutral once i shift to 1st gear.
This was not a very good instructional video. The CK guy doesn't communicate very well about your primary controls on the bike. And, he really should go over some more important tips (safety gear, primary and secondary controls, start up procedures, etc.). I am new to biking and feel like I could have done this video better. Just my 2 coppers worth.
@DyeTyme not exactly... if your a beginner on a 2 stroke, 100cc, ull randomly hit the powerband and bust your crap. Unless you are supervised and have the right gear and strong enough to handle that bike, its not the best choice.
@semipeanut definitely a 4 stroke. low maintenance, CCs depend on how tall and strong you are.. if your about 5ft then a like a ttr 230 or w/e its called. it seems big at first, but when your 15 and still riding, you would regret buying the perfect sized bike for you when you were 11.
Alot of guys have mentioned how shit this video is, lol im just having a laugh that you need to come on here and get these common sense tips and not figure them out yourselves like alot us have. Useless pieces of shit, and you call yourselves riders.
When you turn a motorcycle sometimes you turn the steering wheel the opposite way that you want to turn. In addition, you lean your body in the direction you want to turn.
If you do not counter steer gravity will take over on most turns and just put you and your bike on the ground.
no way, the other 2 will get in the way. also always be mindfull of keeping that brake covered. i have large hands but disproportionately short pinkies so i understand the struggle but make an effort to do it the right way for your safety.
im 15 and i want to get a streetbike...what kind of skills do i need to work on or need to know to basicly not fall off...i dont want to do tricks, just ride
thats probably the WORST advice you could ever say hahahaha. Take the MSF course. Start with a 250cc, i recommend a ninja 250, sporty and great beginner bikes.
hahah friends call you ck... what friends

what stroke should a 11 year old start with?
semipeanut 2 years ago
stroke doesnt matter much, is the amount of ccs.
tbh, go with 2 stroke 50 or 100cc

Why are you presenting information to beginning riders in a T-SHIRT, SHORTS, and NO SAFTEY GEAR AT ALL!!!??? Very poor example.
transphattyacid 4 years ago 12
no offense but you don't have any safety gear on. that's a poor example for new riders.

How do you make a left or right turn from a stop sign or red light? Do you use counter steering or turn the handle bars?
jimmybruno 4 years ago 2
counter steering because your not goin is fast
luvmonkey666 4 years ago

Not Only do the levers act as guillotine. If you dont use all the fingers you cant use maximum braking, because you fingers are in the way.
floydthebarber32 4 years ago
Only a few can use all of their fingers and brake accurately at the same time! For mere mortal its better to use maybe 2 fingers..

upabittoolate 4 years ago
use all fingers when using the levers, becuse they act like a guillotine if you plant the handle bars on tarmac.
Bye Bye fingers!

Any motocycle that can leagally be ridden on the street. For example, not all dirtbikes are street legal. :)
