Cool video. Great pictures. Anyone got wind that the founder of Prehistoric Channel has written his first thriller book, THE ICE GORILLA is now being looked at by movie producers who are trying to turn the book into a movie. It depends on how well the book sells. Personally for me I'd love to see Jurassic Park IV and THE ICE GORILLA in movie theaters in 2013.
@quintanafaj2009 dude the Giganotosauros is like 5 feet taller because the T-Rex is 40 feet tall and Gigano is 45 feet tall either way the king is the T-Rex and nothing could kill it so Gigano sucks no offense
@DeaDZone1013 YOu cant tell if its smarter, I actually think the gigantono is stronger not only because of his size but also because he has 3 finger instead of 2. It proves its a predator that developed more in its enviroment
I wish militarys start training tyrannosaurus as their attack "predators" Would be hella funny if there was a gun fight between talibans and the USMC, and just about few seconds theres 5 t-rex`s running towards the talibans:DDDD
Question, your all saying this is awesome, but this is stating that this creature is going to come back witch is sweet, and evolve 3 times as big, and what you don't understand is, all these primeveal creatures, will kill the human race.
in primeval connor said this was more dangerous than t-rex, but i did some research and found out t-rex had more gracile legs, so it could run faster, larger jaw muscles for a higher bite force, bone crushing teeth to go with it, and it was actualy heavier than giga, who was lightweight for long distance running, t-rex was like a superstrong sprinter, while giga could run for much longer. I concluded that t-rex was more dangerous.
@drungoman I'm not too sure about T. rex running very fast, as I believe T. rex only ran about the speed of a human. I think Giganotosaurus might have been a bit faster. I'm definitely sure that Giganotosaurus was heavier, while I agree with other things you said. I do believe T. rex was more heavily built (not heavier) than "G-rex", and much stronger. And yes, despite my clashing facts, I agree that T. rex was more dangerous.
Do you know where you got your information by the way?
@DrBZR1 I think you should read DR. Tom Holtz's paper on the speed adaptations of tyrannosaurs, including t-rex, the tyrannosaurs had the most gracile leg proportions of any theropod. The holotype giga was 6.2 tons, and that holotype is llonger than sue, and sue was 6.8 tons. Scaling the giga holotype up brings it to 6.5 tons and MOR 008 had a bigger skull than sue, and with some scaling, it makes t-rex up to 7.5 tons.
I don't think humans could go against dinosaurs.Just becuz we have the technology doesn't mean we can defeat millions of dinosaurs. Also once our supply is out. What can we do?Nothing really, since we would most likely get killed just trying to make more ammo for one stupid weapon.
you know us humans will think that dinosaurs and the big cats are the most dangerous animals ever but really us the human species can annihilate countries with just a push of button or take down the biggest elephant with just one pull of a trigger c'mon think about it humans are the perfect and the best predators of all time
But if you take a human without any of this technology, he wouldn´t stand a chance against any big predator ;)
And there is no "perfect" predator, if Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus or any other of these overhyped theropods was the perfect predator (as people often claim), then why are they not still alive today? They may be "perfect" suited for their environment, but as soon as the environment changes they die out.
wat do mean if you put a human with none of it's technology in a fight with a predator, that would be like taking away a lion's claws or teeth any of its weapons and putting it in a fight. dude our technology was made with by ours weapon the brain our intelligence is our biggest strength that is what makes the superior species.
The thing about humans is, we can use and change the environment to our advantage. We can use our surroundings as a tool.
Even with simple spears and torches, humans wiped out the mastodon, the terror bird, and other major predators. We may rely on our technology to win- but we can turn ANYTHING into a tool.
@RickRaptor105 no creatures are perfect but we as human have been on top with or without technology for a long time. its cause of our brain the smarter u are the better of ur survive chances. we can also change the environment to our like or try to adapt. using ur environment is one of the key for survival and if u cant do adapt u die it apply to all living things on earth. believe or not humans are close to being the ultimate predator. sometime its not all strength or size for that matter.
@RickRaptor105 good point, but that doesn't make them any less deadly. And saying "take technology out of the equasion" is like saying remove a dinosaur's teeth. Thecnology is as much a part of our being as any other preditor's fangs, claws, or otherwise. That being said, you're right; there is no "perfect preditor," but humans sure do come close.
@RickRaptor105 tyrannosaurus was the best predator the earth has ever seen. when you compare the facts not even giga could take it out. it wasnt perfect, but it was the best we had.
@RickRaptor105 here our brain is our weapon, the guns are our claws, binoculars are our hawk eyes, trucks and bulldozers are our mighty strength, planes are our wings and submarines and ships are our fins. i say we are perfect predators because there are small amounts of diseases that kill us, we adapt to any area turning harsh forests into buzzing comfortable cities, we could completely annihilate species if we wanted to.
@RickRaptor105 u say we wouldn't stand a chance without our technology but no man would go out and fight a mighty beast without bringing his gun or even his spear. the masaih tribe in kenya kill lion with just spears and at times they don't need weapons they also use poison to kill these mighty predators. there is a perfect predator its a human being!
@thulubheke whoops missed the like button for you... awwll well actually our species werent meant to be predators. we were meant to be herbivores for example me i dont like most meat infact i think im closest to what we are supposed to have evolved like.
@thulubheke Put one of those buttons under the finger of an Orangutan and train him and he is just as deadly. Truth is, very few humans can claim that they contributed to the "know how" of man. People always say "look what THEY did. Aren't WE smart!" Sort of stupid, don't you think?
@thulubheke Thats not really 100% true, any biologist would say that the most successful and dangerous species of live animals capable of annihilating even more are viruses. I guess we come in close on second place. I wonder if reality shows are worse though. Watching big brother reality shows is like pouring acid in your eyes and letting it slowly corrode your brain until you are the equivalent in smarts as pond scum you find in puddles close to Chernobyl second reactor.
I wish they could include T-rex in this series. That would be EPIC. However I think that they are going for the lesser known species. Lets face it. T-Rex is anything but unknown.
This episode was terrible. Not only did they try and make Giga look better than rex, when it actually came to it, nothing interesting enough happened. Not to mention NIGEL MARVIN GOT EATEN. xD
The others are snapshots I took from the actual episode (I watched the episode on a german TV site).
The picture at 0:06 is from an old Primeval trailer just to show the difference between the Giganotosaurus in the trailer and the Giganotosaurus in the actual episode (3:36).
