I've read that in the interest of saving fuel, several airlines have taxied on one engine

@peakster753 Can you blame them?

are the planes good for a night flight?i am having a flight at 2130.

@dipu94321 I'm not sure how one aircraft would be better than another for night flying, so I don't know how I can answer that.

see,a size of a plane matters.where we had to go,there were heavy crosswinds at night
@dipu94321 An airline won't schedule a different type of aircraft simply because there are crosswinds at your destination airport.

hopefully they start the engines before they taxi :)

Both of my US Airways Express flights taxied on one engine for around half of the taxi to the runway.
Why? You don't need both of them to taxi out on. We usually taxi out on one when there is going to be a delayed or extended taxi time.

i know that, i meant before takeoff.
@hpflyboi They taxi on only one engine to conserve fuel :)

They start the engines as they are pushed back from the gate.
