the fact that she's changed her name might not mean she's not proud of her roots. it's her decision, many singers perform under their own names, and many don't. don't you think that maybe in the ordinary life she's still Julia Górniewicz, but maybe when she's performing she's somebody different? unless she's clearly stated she changed her name so that it doesn't sound Polish: in this case, sources please, otherwise there's little sense in speculation

I like her music but i don't like the fact that she changed her surename. her real name is julia górniewicz, her music is good enough to perform it with polish surename, she doesn't need to predend being someone else ("Be yourself; everyone else is already taken" - Wilde). C'mon girl, ain't you proud of being polish?

There is a same situation with Katie Melua, her name is georgian "Ketevan", which i personally find much more interesting than simple "Katie".
