Hogan is the best of all time. No one has ever been the most beloved guy in the business to one of the most hated. Something Austin couldn't do was play the heel. And yea flair would put down hogan because yea flair was the better in ring guy but hogan was the true superstar and flair hates it.
dude i have all the respect in the world for hogan and flair but come one how old are they now they need to just stay out of the lime light and let the young talent in tna have it and least austin could wrestle and not have like 3 moves liked hogan did like i said all the respect in world for those 2 they paved but they just need to move on but am not going to get into a big deal over this am done i said what i belive and not like it matters to u but am 29

@kaseyone100 i also suppose you think Austin is better than Ric Flair too? Austin is a product of a age where the internet got wrestling more exposure and cheaper cable tv got you more exposure. If hogan was in his prime today............ How old are you man??????
I love that comment because you told the truth. Any time you got a 50+ year old legend in the WWF sell more tickets then someone thats STILL in their prime (Austin is either late 40's to early 50's) then you know you can't sell anymore. Only thing people remember austin by is because he was Saying "Oh hell yeah!" and "Middle finger", while Hogan was doing 12.5x THINGS more better than Austin, and actually can still sell.
Hogan is the god of pro wrestling! love him or hate him he is the reason why ppl tune in and watch. he's doing a great job with eric in TNA. its going to get big if not bigger than WCW. I can't wait to see what they have to offer TNA. this year is going to be great.
brutus deserved this. after all brutus turned his back on hogan in 1994 in wcw. so it was obviously hogans turn lol. and in 1996 when hogan turned on wcw/macho man - that was too sweet because hogan got revenge for macho mans heel hurn on him in 1989.
after all those times that the faces turned on hogan (and became heels) all throughout hogans wwf career, it was due time for hogan to turn LOL.
LMAO...you're going to honestly use that as the criteria? McMahon doesn't have Bruno Sammartino or Randy Savage in his Hall of Fame, but PETE ROSE is. McMahon is still sour that Hogan left and damn near ruined his company. And he probably always will be. Without Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin is nothing but another footnote in pro wrestling history. Hogan essentially made THREE organizations huge: the AWA, WWF, and WCW. The first two fizzled after he left and the third ceased to exist as he got older
Total foolishness. The BOTTOM LINE is that Hogan changed wrestling forever. Hogan is one of the most recognizable faces on the entire planet. My grandmother knows who Hogan is. Maybe one other person on my street knows who Austin is. To the extent that Austin broke records, POTC 2 also broke records. It's called inflation. Prices go up. Populations go up. Per capita, it's still not even close. And tell me when Austin EVER CARRIED a 93 000 seat show? WM III was about Hogan/Andre period
In his heyday, Hogan made Ric Flair, the greatest champion in pro wrestling history, a jealous afterthought. Even as a washed up heel, Hogan's persona still DOMINATED the WWF. Austin had a niche for a couple years to a segment of mostly teenage males in the late 90s. And Austin could not wrestle any better than Hogan. He just kicked & stunned. That's it. All of this is garbage & history will prove it. We still talk about Hogan. The Rock overtook Austin after maybe 3 years at the top.
Austin is not bigger then Hogan...I will give you Austin sold the most merchandise and such better and singal handly carried the WWE over WCW pretty much...However Hogan was huge for over 20 years and in two organizations...Austin and the Rock were big for 6 years and then were gone...97-2003 for Austin...by 2004 Austin was fading and such...While Hogan was still headling events like Hogan vs. HBK and such,.,,
& after 20+ years in the business, Hogan was surpassed by a guy who gave us 6 or 7 great years. Lol, no wonder Hogan doesn't like Austin. Rock may not be bigger than Hogan, but Austin sure in the hell is, son. As far as the Hogan vs HBK match, did u even see it? That match totally blew, regardless of how much publicity it received. Hell, matches of today receive a lot of publicity, doesn't mean they don't suck, lol...
it does not matter of hogan vs hbk was not a good match the fact is Hogan has stood the test of time, and was a huge name and such for over 20 years...Even in 2003 when they had Austin co-gm Raw it was a stupid Angle...It's just like Babe Ruth who is the best overall player sure someone might have had a few seasons better then him but overall he is still #1...Also take people who never watched wrestling guarenteed more people heard of hogan vs. Austin...Dont get me wrong I loved Austin as well.
Hogan has stood the test of time, yes, & more people may have heard of Hogan than Austin. Nevertheless, McMahon & Flair have both admitted that Austin is without a doubt the biggest name & most popular wrestler in WWF/WWE history, surpassing Hogan, Bret, HBK, Rock, etc. Yeah Austin has been a part of some rather lame Angles, but so has Hogan. Hell, Hogan lost steam in '92 when Bret was on the rise. Austin is bigger than Hogan, there's no doubt about it...
YoungGrizzly you know damm well Austin is not bigger than Hogan. Austin only outsold Hogan in merchandise because black shirts are much easier to sell than Yellow and Red and distribution was way easier for Austin's era. Hogan is the Babe Ruth of wrestling, GET OVER IT.
"black shirts are much easier to sell than yellow & red? Wow, what an insightful individual u must be...."
So you think red and yellow shirts sell as well as black shirts? You're an idiot. For the record I think "Terry" Hulk Hogan is a scumbag in real life, but he is the biggest star the WWF ever had and ever will have. Like it or not.
I agree with you..If you take people who never follwed wrestling I guarrentee you more people will have heard of Hogan then Austin...Austin did outsell Hogan in merchandise and did carry the WWE pretty singally handly over WCW..but Austin's run was only 6 years Hogan has been running a good 20 years and while Austin was an after thought in 05 Hogan was still in there headlining events like Hogan vs. HBK
if the WWF had the distribution available back then as they did in the Austin era, it would have outsold it. Its true what some wrestlers had said. The only way you could get a hogan shirt was to buy it at the arena holding the event, or mail order (I always wanted it, but had no idea how to order.. same with my parents).
Very clever to bring back Hogan as a heel,, fans loved him and now they had to make a choice...Bischoff's almost a Genius far as wrestling's concerned. Awesome to see hogan on the dark side...And the reason Beefcake wasn't accepted in NWO, was because it stands for NEW WORLD ORDER duh...Um, Who's gonna believe in that if you got Brutus/Bootyman whatever in their clique?...He was just a stepping stone for Hogan to show everyone that this was for real and u were either with or against him - N.W.O.
You know whats crazy? The NWO was born on 7.7.96 and the next month at King of the Ring Austin 3:16 is born the main factors of the Monday Night War born in the same time period
All right, if they were gonna bring Brutus Beefcake in later on, why didn't they just bring him in here? Brutus was a former WWF guy, so it would have made sense. I guess because he was such a jobber during his WCW run, he wasn't an elite enough guy to do it, but I don't see why he came in later on. I still think the nWo should have consisted of ONLY: Hogan, Hall, Nash, Savage, Piper, Henning, DiBiase, Syxx, Bischoff and Bobby Heenan. You would have had someone to represent all aspects then.
But dude, so was DiBiase, Henning, and Rude during the WWF days! Savage was an enemy in BOTH WWF and WCW, and still joined. Piper and Heenan were WWF guys, and the nWo (in it's original form) as composed of the WWF guys. I respect your opinion, but I think in the context of the story in would have worked. Besides Hogan was a heel at this point. Piper and Heenan were GREAT heels in the WWF. Think about it, man.
DiBiase, Rude or Hennig weren't big money draws in 1996 or 97. The buyrate that Starrcade 96 got, proved Piper vs. Hogan was a match that the WCW fans wanted to see, dating back to 1985, when neither man scored a pinfall or a lose against one another. Heenan on the other hand, wouldnt have worked in the nWo because the whole concept was for all the heels and babyfaces on commentary and in WCW to be full against the nWo. that was it''s charm and what made it real.
i bet you're pretty jealous of that guy they ruffed up in there, he even got some hogan smooches. so why do you want hogans dick so much boy. why are you so gay.
