regardless of how they are kept permanently, the sheer fact that you put both of these animals in a cage of this size speaks volumes. ferrets will kill (and possibly try) to eat a guinea pig. they are natural enemies and this is abuse on the part of the guinea pig. period.
Well just like cats and dogs suppostly don't get along but you can teach them to get along you can teach a guinea pig and a ferret too. I had a guinea pig for 8 years and had a ferret for 5 years and they would fall asleep together when I would let them play around the house. It all depends on how much attention they get and on this video if the guinea pig was so miserable he wouldn't even be eating. At first just keep an eye on their reactions until you notice that they won't hurt each other
I am the mother of these teenagers who put the guinea and the ferret together, let me explain something. They don't have the ferret and the guinea together, it was only for that moment just to see how they would get along. The ferret has a cage 5 times bigger then this one you see here and the guinea lives in a much bigger cage as well. We use this cage just to transfer them to the vet. The animals are all taken care off with lots of love. thank you all very much! :)
Keep your ferret well-fed, because if it gets hungry while nobody is home, it will it the guinea pig. Ferrets are carnivores, and putting rodents and carnivores together is never completely safe, even if they seem to get along at first look!
Correction: you have a problem of not knowing how to take care of them. Guinea pigs can easily reach age 6 or older if treated right and fed correctly. And they NEED another guinea pig for company, guinea pigs can die of loneliness, you know?
Again, your guinea pig is quite terrified right now, or wants to be away from the ferret. Guinea pigs and ferrets CANNOT live together. Your guinea pig is quite miserable, I can tell you just by listening to him and watching his behavior. If you want him happy, consider getting him his own cage, and a guinea pig friend. A bunny friend would be better than a ferret but another guinea pig would be better. You may wanna get a book on guinea pigs in order to know how to treat yours...
I think the guiena pig is scared... but still can eat when they are terrified.. my guinea pigs can't... they should get comfy first.. he he
