there is absolutely no truth in your assertions. Only very few tibetans support the dalai lama in these recent protests. However, the average tibetan supports dalai lama in the sense that he is the head of their religion.
What do the tibetans want? THey want a secure place to live- this was not possible under a feudal theocracy. You need to separate and distinguish between what the tibetan extremist, exiled monks want and what normal tibetans want.

let me start by saying the dalai lama accepts chinese sovereignty in tibet. and, for the parts of buddhism that has been "condemmed", i dont really believe it, but i haven't done that much research on that.
I understand that the dalai lama says that he accepts chinese sovereignty in tibet but it is naive to suggest that he is not fighting to be the head of state. His policies and assertions essentially purport to say that he wants to be able to kick the military and han chinese out of the region, basically rule over "his people" and be their leader but at the end of the day, have the chinese governemnt foot the bill.

It took me time to find you! Sorry. I did some reading on the History of Tibet. It appears that they were independent sometimes lined to Mongolians, British, Indians, China, etc. And sometimes Free under protection, etc. I was amazed at the History. It was not always a "State" of China. What I call Free is that we speak freely, free press, voting, travel, living, choosing work, education, etc. Communism does not give that. Real Freedom is what I meant!
China is one of few nations in the world that has no racism problems, becoz the term Chinese means not only one race but 56 races, i guess you americans know very little about this fact that China is a multi-racial country, we don't have problems with regarding skin colors or religions like your America for whites...

1/2: It is shameful as a Buddhist to see a clip like this because the "ammunition" was given by the non-virtuous action of some Buddhist representatives & the Lama Policy (a policy mixing religion & politics introduced by the 5th Dalai Lama). This is aligned to the basic Buddhadharma law of cause & affect. If you came from a free society and have freedom of the press, you would read that China was kicked out of Tibet by the 13th Dalai Lama, who wrote and tried to bring reform in Tibet. Tibet never was part of China. China wanted to increase its borders after their defeat during the Boxer Rebellion of 1901 and never to have "imperialists" in China again. Tibet, Mongol are "buffer" territories to protect China, nothing more.

there is absolutely no truth in your assertions. Only very few tibetans support the dalai lama in these recent protests. However, the average tibetan supports dalai lama in the sense that he is the head of their religion.
What do the tibetans want? THey want a secure place to live- this was not possible under a feudal theocracy. You need to separate and distinguish between what the tibetan extremist, exiled monks want and what normal tibetans want.

The issue here is not religious freedom,but rahter,that the dalai lama wants to be the head of state.While i fully support religious freedom in all forms,i cannot support the notion of a theocracy where a religious leader makes state decisions.This is further away from a democracy than communism

I understand that the dalai lama says that he accepts chinese sovereignty in tibet but it is naive to suggest that he is not fighting to be the head of state. His policies and assertions essentially purport to say that he wants to be able to kick the military and han chinese out of the region, basically rule over "his people" and be their leader but at the end of the day, have the chinese governemnt foot the bill.
Lets try and concentrate on reality instead of mere words here.

It is not about ethnic. It is not about culture. It is religion the greatest treat. Many Tibetans are very religious people, not only the monks. They want to build Berlin Walls to protect their religion. However most Han-Chinese are infidels, and the Muslim-Chinese believe in Islam. Dalai use to be both a spiritual leader and head of state. You don't really have to look hard to find some form of corruption of exploitation taking place in any society.Why target H.H The Dalai Lama?For those of us, who believe him to be our spiritual and temporal leader, he remains so and for those of you who make a mockery out of our religion and culture,we wish you would find better things to do. Dalai Lama is an outstanding marketing saleman and communicator for the Westners to enjoy and reinforce their negative views upon China and whatever the CCP does. They hated the communist China so much they sided with the slave master coated by the "peaceful" religon crown.

I used to think Penn Gillette was funny. Now I believe that he is misinformed. Tenzin Gyatso inherited a messed up social system and was instituting much needed reforms for several years just as the Han under Mao came in with guns and tanks to 'liberate' Tibet. The CIA WAS using Tibet for its own agenda; but as the Tibetan guerillas themselves said,
at least SOMEONE was giving them bullets to take out those who were killing their people.BTW, racism sucks. "White Devils"? Come on...Po Rangzen!

It took me time to find you! Sorry. I did some reading on the History of Tibet. It appears that they were independent sometimes lined to Mongolians, British, Indians, China, etc. And sometimes Free under protection, etc. I was amazed at the History. It was not always a "State" of China. What I call Free is that we speak freely, free press, voting, travel, living, choosing work, education, etc. Communism does not give that. Real Freedom is what I meant!

China is one of few nations in the world that has no racism problems, becoz the term Chinese means not only one race but 56 races, i guess you americans know very little about this fact that China is a multi-racial country, we don't have problems with regarding skin colors or religions like your America for whites...
So what you people are doing is creating racial hatred among Chinese and introducing racism into China which is disgusting...
