The guards don't say how overcrowding is one of the biggest problems. I was there and there are 8 women to one tiny cell. It is inhumane. We are locked up with hardened murderers and petty thieves all the same. In some parts of the prison we were triple bunked, they don't even triple bunk dogs. And the guards play horrible mind games and would drive us insane. Yes these are more reasons why there is so much bloodshed there. No one ever wants to talk about it. We are still human no matter what.

wow after being out for 5 yrs now and living a totaly different life style, my heart goes out to these women. I was once one and thank God I made choices to better myself. I fought LeLe on the main yard in vspw, I was once ruthless and did several stays in the hole (segragated housing unit) Watching these videos makes my heart hurt and a reminder how far I have came.

@crazyhorse1369 My dad is a former prison guard, and he proudly about how he and his buddies abused tons of inmates. And have you heard of Tony Simmons? He raped at least 2 girls in a juvenile facility and ONLY got put in jail (for ONLY 4 years) because there was enough of an outcry from rape victims. So, if thats how serial child molesting guards are treated, I sure as hell don't think any guards who rape adult inmates are going to get thrown in jail.

it's (reverse) sexism that in most US jails/prisons only female guards/CO's can body/strip search female inmates/arrestees, but either male or female guards can (in most cases) under state/county laws/statutes usually search a male detainee.

i got put in solitaire (isolation) and put in retraints for talking too much and they say i tried to hurt myslef and escape, but am semi-free again in gen pop. they say i have mental issues, but i do not really want to go back to the psych unit bcuz it is dark, cold and really stinks down there. i see the psychiatrist again tomorrow for another evaluation and determination based on their recomendations as to where i go.

In current USA-women are incarcerated at about 1/10 as often as men and even if they are convicted of a crime-it is usually blamed on their dysfunctional submissive relationship with an abusive man and/or drug addiction, a bad childhood, being uneducated, poor, etc. usually not becuase they actually did anything wrong.

and yes, that has happened in the past.. However not common at all... Usually most of the inmates are there on drug charges, probabtion violations from drugs and petty theft. Like I said, a small handful of inmates are even capable of that.. Also, a lot of the women there that ARE there for murder are really old... like 80's, rolling around the dayroom in a wheelchair. They will talk all sorts of threats but the worst they could do is roll you over in their chair.
