  • Ahoj, velmi mě art nouveau (a art deco) zajímá. Mám spoustu fotografií, knih a zdrojů. Jana

  • I love your channel, nice clips. Beslutsstöd like this.

  • Mucha is my favourite artist! In 1996 I ventured to Prague specifically in order to search out Mucha's works. By asking around, I managed to find Mucha's townhouse near Prague Castle. I knocked on the door, and Geraldine Mucha answered and gave me a private tour of the Mucha house! Although she kept it very neat and tidy, it was truly unchanged since the time of Alphonse Mucha, and contained many of his original prints and paintings. It was one of the highlights of my life. • The man was ahead of his time.

  • he looks like sigmund freud

  • I wish he was alive to see how much of an inspiration he really was.

Mali by sme naňho byť hrdí! Alfons Mucha is ARTIST!!

  • @xlaque Co to tady píšete? Nashle.

  • The Mucha Museum in Prague (Panska Ulice, very near Wenceslas Square [Vaclavske Namesti] is worth a visit).

  • Russia of Bolshevism should be found in a private collection exhibition in Prague.

  • There are in fact 21 paintings in Slavic Epos. The 21st is not installed with the other 20. The name is "Rusko bolševismu" ("Russia of bolshevism"). The paintings expresses Mucha's diagreement with communism taking over Russia, destroying the basic foundation of that country's society. It was soon removed from Slavic epos exposition in the fear of Russia's reaction. If anyone could google that painting out, congratulations. It is said to have suffered from poorly performed restauration.

  • I want it in spanish please

  • Maybe he is my relative...lol

  • @MuchaJokker

    It is a common word:

in Czech: moucha = a fly

in some Czech dialects and in Slovak: mucha = a fly

  • CANNOT WAIT to get an Alphonse Mucha tatt <3

His work is amazing & so is all the history behind it.

  • hay i've got 4 drawings by him, I wonder if there worth enything, there of the 4 seasons

  • pretty doubtful since most of his work is and only has been available in print form and any color work is more then likely big. Drawings were kept mainly to books and throw aways and no work made it to America for resell and all works are known and recorded.

  • Never the less, I have 4 drawings by him signed by and signed by him, and as I said there of the four seasons, I'll try and take pics and put them on my youtube

  • probably the prints since the originals are in a museum in Prague. Four Seasons is one of the most replicated prints from the estate. Either that or they're fakes since you did say drawings and not paintings. I'd hit up a major art museum or university to authenticate them.

  • Your probably Right, there probably prints, but thats good advice to check with an arts Museum just to be sure, even so There still Very Lovely to look upon

  • God. What a beast. This man has an awesome grasp of the human figure as well as that baroque, organic decorative style that is characterized by those beautiful, 2 dimensional curves.

  • My favorite artist of all time!!!!

  • Decorative Art is defined as; "Ornamenting, or enriching, but more importantly in art emphasizing the two-dimensional nature of an artwork, or any of its elements. Decorative Art emphasizes the essential flatness of a surface."

Mucha has been seen as a 'decorative" artist by many because of his heavy influence in the Art Nouveau movement, which is seen as a 'trend' in the art world, in my opinion. But if you do some reaserch, it is claer to see he was NOT a simple decorative artist at all.

  • research* clear* ( Sorry for the typos.)

Mucha in my opinion is one of the most over-looked artists, he was truly a amster draftsman and painter. It's a shame more people don't know about his Slavic Epic series, and other works of his. Hhe had his hands in jewelery and set/costume design, he was a very talented man.

  • Thank you!!!!

  • i like his art so much. I drew similar pics before i knew about him, and then i discovered we have the same family name xDD

  • Hey, do you by any chance know what technic did Mucha use for his "Summer" painting? I can´t find this information anywhere and I´m trying to do something similar. :)

  • oh sorry, i have absolutely no idea :/

  • You may have found the technique by now, but most of his work was done in colored lithograph.

  • An extraodinary artist. Like everyone else here, I would like to see the entire documentry. In my case to learn more about him.

  • fajne film

  • I think I saw this doc (or one remarkably similar) in the Mucha Museum on a recent visit to Prague! Which is hardly any help to me now, when I'd like very much to see it.

It's amazing how many posts there are requesting a full Internet version without response. I thought the magical Internet just took care of stuff like that on its own.

  • yeah ive been trying to find a dvd or anything really. but no luck.

  • where can I get this?

  • Yeah, if anyone knows where to watch or get a hold of this documentary, let me know. I am a HUGE Mucha fan, but things like this are hard to come by.

  • I want to see tne full documentary as well!

  • I watched this documentary and I've been quite impresed... But I like the most Slav epics, those are nice paintings hehe. I whould be gratefull if someone can tell me where to find some of his Slav epics paintings on the net... or send me.

I think I watched this on History channel.

  • I'm also very intersting about this documentary, is amazing and the colaboration that he did with sarah bernhardt, he dedicated a lot of his art almost religiosly to bernhardt for years, he was her protégé, and he have like a obssesion abouth her. Please upload the rest!

  • Where can I watch the entire documentary? I'm really interested!

  • @TigerPurr19 all 6 parts are on youtube eteaching.forumup.gr/viewtopic.php?t=584&mforum=eteaching there's a link that has them all
