When i had mine done they went bottom up, i didnt feel a thing, i went straight to m'ds for a plain mcflurry to reduce the swelling coz it swells like a MOFO! I struggled to eat proper for about a week! And the same night i got it pierced i was ill, dont know why but that hurt it even more :( glad i got it dun

for you guys getting yours done or worried about getting one due to pain factor: The tongue is the least painful of any piercing you can get! Earlobes are more painful, believe it or not. This is due to the fact that nerve endings are on the surface of the tongue and there are so few through the thick, middle flesh the needle passes through. You only feel a slight pinch on the top! If you close your eyes, you may not even notice they've done it :)

well they shouldn't have swelled unless you irritate your jewelry, I got my lip pierced and it was fine. Just don't move it around too much or you'll get nasty stuff inside :/

My bestie his names Cody and he wanted a lip ring so I pierced him it was pretty fun besides the blood. The swelling goes down after about 3 days.

For me when I got mine done was the clamp. The need piercing itself didn't hurt at all. It was sore and swollen for a few days but it was bearable. You talk with a lisp for a while but it goes away. People like to say it hurts just to scare you. But overall it's fast and virtually painless.  It's well worth it.

@kestelle21 Really research what type of design you want make sure it is something you want for life, be sure you research the tattooist you are going too and that they use NEW needles and ink!!! and then enjoy your tattoo! :) but researching is the key to happy results! :) got my 1st tattoo in Jan 2011 & 4th tattoo yesterday :)
