Its funny how this years habs have less french players than the leafs. Iv always kind of wondered why they chant habs because if you look at the history of it it was actualy a derogatory term used because the canadians were known as a lower class team. I guess its like black guys using the N word? whatever. Its like the leafs refering to themselves as the laughs.

@fready69 WTF? WRONG! In 1924 when Montreal had two teams one was made up of mostly english players(The Maroons), the other team(the Canadiens) was mostly french players. Many of the french players were farmers(Les Habitants). A US reporter was under the impression the "H" in the Canadiens logo stood for Habitants and refered to them as the "Habs" . The nickname stuck. There is nothing derogatory about it at all and has nothing to do with the Habs being considerd a "lower class" team.
