OH MAN! I've gone the exact same way you did. I upgraded to a Toshiba L355D-S7815 (I believe that's the right model number), which is a little different from yours. It doesn't quite have some of the perks yours does, but it's essentially the same machine and I couldn't be happier with it. I got mine for a little cheaper, $599 at Best Buy, and it was the best bang for the buck out of the selection they and Walmart had. I upgraded from a 1999 IBM Thinkpad T20 - which was designed to run Win98.
... I had done everything I could to keep the T20 viable and updated, and much like your Dell I thought the T20 had 512mb of RAM, but it only had 256mb - two chipsets of 128mb LOL Definitely time to update, so I picked up the S7815. My Satellite has 3gb of RAM, 12 times the RAM the T20 had, and 160gb of space. Mine has the AMD Athlon 64 X2, and the GMA Raedon x3100 graphics card - which is enough to run World of Warcraft and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. I'm really startin to love my Toshiba...
lol i did the same thing with my toshiba haha. i use rocket dock. mine is an a215 model. it has hardware problems with the motherboard that make the system black screen. yea just like the blue screen but...black. best buy wouldtn let me return it either. other than that its great!
great computer. I see its a budget computer u bought but from my experience with windows computers, they are great when they are new. 6months to a year later, they slow down especially if you connect to internet, do media stuff and games, install apps. Battery life drops drastically. I've swiched to mac and it's been a great experience although before i switched i've had to put up with all the misconceptions behind macs (no free apps, can't play games, too expensive, incompatible, etc...).
i have the same computer, but my charger broke so i cant use it
