Cancelling this show we've lost trip's and tpol's love, haven't heard 'i love you' once in the whole series! We've lost probably the best days of the beginning of the federation, would be interesting to see humans, vulcans, andorians and the telarites working together. Yeah we are pissed off. Bring this series back, if not bring another star trek series!!!!
As someone who generally doesn't like science fiction for its stupidity, I actually enjoyed the first two seasons of StarTrek: Enterprise. At least it wasn't set in the 24th century with 2010 technology like the previous series that was filmed in the 1980s.
@SpaceChronologyCom True TNG did not see as much of a technological improvement in approx. 100 years that one would have expected. However the original series was made in the sixities and the technology seen was not only appropeate but can also be seen as influencal to the technology of our modern day.
Enterprise was trying a little to hard to be Firefly: Star Trek Edition, I think. In my opinion, the problem is that Archer really wasn't half as a sympathetic character as Malcolm Reynolds. And another problem is that some of the really strong acting was in the secondary roles where it couldn't have as much of an effect. I do think that if it was given a bit longer to develop it could have become a classic: there was a genuine feeling that the writers were laying out an long-term story.
Star Trek Enterprise sure isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.
First two seasons weren't stellar but they were decent. Season 3 and 4 were much better but by then it was unfortunately too late to save it from cancellation. And two be honest, I am not that fond of first two seasons of TNG and DS9 either so it's a shame Enterprise was cut short.
@Valbruch I loved Enterprise.... I'm actually more fond of Enterprise characters than New Generations ones.... And this song.... The most inspirational song ever!!
Re-post!ENTERPRISE...underrated series...an endless thanks to mr Gene Roddenberry...for giving me,giving us, this endless awesome dream ...STAR TREK....when i think that human beings are only the bad part of the world....star trek give me the faith of the heart,to believe again in human beings!greetings from italy!ps this song is really touching!
u know watching this video, i always think when i see this opening sequence and this song with it, the words and the sights of america's achievements makes me think this is the perfect theme song to america's pioneer and entreprenurial spirit.
just the perfect theme song to the American spirit!
@mikefan09 Mike..From everything I've seen, this is actually a cover of "Faith of the Heart" originally done by Rod Stewart. I've heard both versions...both are good, but Russell Watson packs a bit more punch with his version IMO.
@movvvv HA! They haven't given up space exploration! As the US government put it, "we still plan to be a world leader in space exploration". We will, of course. Just, for now, the robots will doing it in place of humans.
Personally, I can't wait for Leo and Ike type probes that explore planets in other solar systems.
But eventually, we will have the technology to go there ourselves...
@movvvv Though, I personally think humanity, by the 22nd century, is going to resemble the Borg more than the federation. We already have facebook and wikipedia, the birth of hive mind. Eventually we'll use our brains directly as computers to hook up to this internet. We'll also use technology to augment our body. However, unlike the Borg, we won't nessecarily lose individuality, as PC's are still individuals amongst the internet.
@movvvv Also, we won't nessecarily be an evil heliotistic empire zombifying people. Our politics and morality will probably resemble that of the federation more than that of the Borg, if not our social and biological structure. It really depends on who's in charge of this race of posthumans. Odds are, it won't be another Adolf Hitler knock-off, so we're good! Probably someone more like Obama or Bush (not great leaders, but they at least try to be good), and if we're lucky, Lincoln or FDR.
@StuffedAnimalPlanet It depends quantum mechanics dictates that energy can go three ways with choice it could be thousands. I believe that humanity needs to learn what is inside ourselves before we truly undertake any such dream of exploring the stars. I don't care what anyone says because I believe we are all spiritually connected and that if everyone treated one another as family, we would see a future such as this.
This song didn't really sit right with me until I started to explore the world for myself. It then dawned on me what the creators were trying to achieve.
The only thing holding humanity back from a future such as this is that we will not stand together and ask for it. If everyone got up and saw through the BS and stood up together and said yes we want this future all together, we could make this dream happen. Together we are so much stronger, we can do this.
History doesn't remember violent expressions, but deep philosophical tunes that speak to the soul... It would be easy to dismiss you as without a human spirit, or soul. But I prefer to believe your belief is a result of your denial to express and feel those emotions which you would embrace if you made an effort to understand. I guess I'll never speak to you again, but wish the best for you.
@SVWillmer If a cheesy, generic pop tune is what speaks to your soul then I feel very sorry for you and your soul. Moreover, it's a tune that neither fits its visuals nor the star trek tradition.
In fact, I would actually prefer that you never speak to me again, I have no time for shallow, pretentious simpletons who grossly overestimate their worth.
I'm in a position to do what I want, to feel what I want. Regardless of how you feel or how eloquently you choose a selection of words. And seeing as you know me so well, why don't you write a book for me so I can make all the profit from it.
@SVWillmer "Deep philosophical tunes that speak to the soul"? What? Seriously, what? Haha, what? I'm... what? Being moved by music is one thing. Accusing others of lacking humanity because they don't enjoy your favorite easy-listening anthem is laughable. This song strikes me as the sort meant to be piped over the PA system at Nordstrom.

Like the show... hate the song... I think I'd be fine with it being either A. not a theme song B. not a theme song for this show, or C. starting differently. It starts out painfully, and has lyrics, which is weird for Star Trek. All the other themes are similar. It creates a sense of unity in the series. This show... aaaaarrggghh!! It's probably a lovely song, but its context pisses me off. :)
@vantarinitel The music was about 1 min and 30 seconds long. I don't really understand why people spaz out about it. Who cares. I think its the show that counts, not the opening music. Plus its the lyrics what do it justice. You should look them up and then you will understand why it was chosen.
wow, i haven't heard this song in years, when i was like 6 me and my sister would jump up and down through the whole song, those were the good old days when cartoons didn't suck, families got along better, and you didn't care what people thought, but that was when you were you younger you didn't see the world like anyone else you didn't plan life, you lived it, and this song lets me re-do that and I will never forget this song for my entire life, my childhood rests within it
Enterprise was a mixed bag, great at some points and terrible at others. This intro was different, but I eventually came to enjoy it. It's actually a really appropriate song for Star Trek.
@KrazyKommieKiller I've seen a bit of it when I was younger and now I'm rewatching the whole series after seeing all other Star Trek series and I have to say I really like it. And the song is great, I wish I would live to see the day humanity starts exploring space beyond our solar system. I tear up everytime I listen to the intro.
@KrazyKommieKiller I completely agree. Voyager and Deep Space Nine had those magnificent orchestral themes which made it hard to accept this one at first. But once you recognise how it symbolises humanity's quest and progression it's really pretty magical.
@KrazyKommieKiller Actually, if you go back and watch the original series, it's got just as many cringe-worthy moments as Enterprise, but I still enjoy it. I think you just have to accept that Star Trek should be watched while not taking it too seriously, but just enjoying it for what it is. I honestly enjoyed Enterprise more than TOS.
I hope everyone was listening, because we're going to do this. No matter what financial problems and adversity we face in the endevours, even if it throws us into the dark ages, This dream has a guatantee. Right now on the desk of the oval office is a completed petition to disclose all cases of contact we have had with extraterrestrials, and the advancements they have aided our race with as ours have theirs mutually. It's starting here, and will take us out there, where no man has gone before.
One day we will have the intersteller space travel but countries on this planet of our are gonna have to stop fighting each other to power a star ship well the aswer has starring at us in the face for years trouble world leaders are too busy making atomic bombs abusing Einstines discovery
While this is a good theme song, I just thought it never /quite/ fit Star Trek. I love ST:E though, don't get me wrong. Oh, and I *HATE* the Season 3 remix.
@GodofReapers I agree that it is a little odd, but I think that's just because we're used to the other openings. It really speaks to the history of exploration from the first attempts to take to the sea through space exploration. It takes a huge amount of faith to go into the unknown. It's that faith and courage they're getting at here. Beautiful song and nice comment! :)
This is the most stunning opening I've ever seen. It's the perfect presentation of human engineering and science... and every time I see this video I know that together mankind can take this final step to the stars. Hopefully, men take that chance.
This song is a good fit to are space program. It shows are willingness we had to go out there (Space) and try to really explorer the Heavens. To bad thou that the US decided to shout down the program to save money. :(
@KingBoaz100 The cancelling of the constellation program has been a great mistake driven by short-termed politics. I hope, we will find a way to get to the moon together :-) At the end, mankind has to work together.
I recently started watching Enterprise, and after the first episode, I've hated this annoying fucking intro. I love the show, I'm into the second season, but, every single time I hear this intro, I try to skip it, mute it, or do something to make it stop. It's so horrible, so much so I did a search online to see if I was alone in this. It's literally the worse intro song I've ever seen in a series, and I've watched some corny stuff in my life. I'm a huge scifi fan, but I fucking hate this song.
I honestly don't understand how someone can hear that bullshit of music and actually think it's good. I'm not trying to be a prick, I honestly don't understand it. I hear it, total goddamn garbage, completely generic copy/paste lyrics, and a horrible singer. The drums sounds like they're electronic, the guitar sounds like it's being done on a keyboard, and it's just overall a complete annihilation to my ears. But, hey, if that's just me , then fuck me, but, it's not. ;)
Tahle Enterprise se mi moc nelíbí. Příde mi to jako by se něco vzalo z těch ostatních natočených dílů (Deep space nine, Voyager, Enterprise...) a dalo dohromady. Dávám přednost původnímu Kirkovi.
When i first heard this song i was like "What is this?! Not traditional Star Trek Intro?!" I thought it was madness. After watching the series (Thank you netflix) it grew on me. I understand the connection between the song and the series. FAVORITE series and FAVORITE intro to a series of all time for me. Amazing, absolutely amazing. I wish Enterprise still ran because i LOVED it. More the NG or ToS or DS9. It was just the perfect match between series and theme song xD Thank you for posting.
This theme was .... unfortunate. The other "Trek" movies and series all had great instrumentals during the opening credits, the kind of thing you'd expect from John Williams.
This sounds like Michael Bolton singing a commercial for Dodge pickup trucks. I really think it contributed to the failure of the series. Ponderous.
This was an absolutely perfect beginning for Enterprise. It documents humanity's rise to reaching the stars and having done on its own through great hardships. It embodies everything that Star Trek stands for and if you don't get it then you are listening to the lyrics. I just wish the show itself could have captured the excitement and wonder that these opening credits gave me.
@snap2snip I have to agree that for the most part it is. However, that doesn't detract from how good the show is. Another point I'd like to throw out there is that even though the song wasn't a good fit, it is still pretty damn good and when looked at from this context does add something to the show, just not enough.
I really hate myself for saying this.... but I kind of like this theme song now. Don't get me wrong, I still think something more classical/operatic is more appropriate for star trek but this is kind of infectuous too.
The first episode all I could think was "so this is why the show didn't last". Then, gradually, episode-by-episode the song started growing on me. I now love it. Sometimes I think "eh. This doesn't fit Star Trek" but it DOES fit the story. This is the perfect song to send us off on the BEGINNING of our voyage into the stars.
This was probably the best of the other series of star trek (excluding Next Generation) i always wanted to hold up a lighter when another eppisode came on because of this song. this was my favorite, but i still will always love Next Generation and Voyager
where did america's passion to reach the stars go? i almost want to cry when i watch any episode of star trek because i keep thinking "I WANT TO GO THERE NOW!!"
@bluespartan10 Shooting for the stars is to hard for this generation. This generation is all about instant rewards for minimal effort. Its all flash and no substance unfortunately just like Obama(sorry i had to bring in politics but thats what i think).
@Xantheus07 that's ok you're fine, in fact i'd go one further and say that what you said could apply to all the poloticians today. but you know what? if we want poloticians to change and to shift focus on what's important, like space exploration, WE need to change. a garbage infested public is going to produce garbage infested leaders. the question is, are humans ready to evolve themselves to a higher form of thinking and work together to put ourselves on the right track? time tells.
@hallerd thats a total crock this song is perfect for the show. I can't think of one better than this to articulate the mission of Enterprise and her crew's ambition to see it through!
ENTERPRISE...underrated series...an endless thanks to mr Gene Roddenberry...for giving me,giving us, this endless awesome dream ...STAR TREK....when i think that human beings are only the bad part of the world....star trek give me the faith of the heart,to believe again in human beings!greetings from italy!ps this song is really touching!
It's part of the design of corrupt society that inspirational songs like this are cast away or shows with such a strong message for our species are canceled. Humanity doesn't suck, it's just not human yet. It's never been completely human and as long as this species lets things hold it back, and can't do what's good for societys and our species, adapt to it's habitat, environment, like a virus, ignorance and suffering will continue to spread to every one around the world.
The opening video always makes me wonder, if humans focused our collective intellect towards something other than profit or killing one another what could we achieve?
@MrClone501st It's called a 'full length version', ie, Dianne Warren wrote a complete song. They can't use the whole thing for the show intro. sheesh!
Urgh, hate it. ST should always be classical opening. When I first sat down to watch Enterprise on its first episode and saw this I thought it had the possiblity of sucking and boy was I right.
@SeedsofJoy At the first go I 2 was...sceptical.. but after hearing it I must say that this song is perfect as intro..because ( along with it's video ) it appeals to our good side and to stride forward
@samuraikensai Techincally, at the moment we have no manned space program, because Orion was cancelled after the Shuttle was cancelled. So, other than unmanned probes, we don't have a space program at the moment.
I love the song... if I just heard it on the radio by itself I probably would not like it (pretty simple lyrics and so much rhyming with the heart) BUT the theme to which it's applied works so well: we have come a long way... starting with a simple raft on the open waters to sailboats, steam engines, the first flight and then space travel!
Cancelling this show we've lost trip's and tpol's love, haven't heard 'i love you' once in the whole series! We've lost probably the best days of the beginning of the federation, would be interesting to see humans, vulcans, andorians and the telarites working together. Yeah we are pissed off.

I loved the video but the song SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS! It's painfully cheesy and not as operatic as Voyager or TNG
bulok69 3 months ago
Enterprise was a mixed bag, great at some points and terrible at others. This intro was different, but I eventually came to enjoy it. It's actually a really appropriate song for Star Trek.
KrazyKommieKiller 3 months ago 59
@KrazyKommieKiller I've seen a bit of it when I was younger and now I'm rewatching the whole series after seeing all other Star Trek series and I have to say I really like it. And the song is great, I wish I would live to see the day humanity starts exploring space beyond our solar system. I tear up everytime I listen to the intro.
exorder2005 2 months ago
@KrazyKommieKiller I completely agree. Voyager and Deep Space Nine had those magnificent orchestral themes which made it hard to accept this one at first. But once you recognise how it symbolises humanity's quest and progression it's really pretty magical.
thepigeonsmustdie 2 months ago

While this is a good theme song, I just thought it never /quite/ fit Star Trek. I love ST:E though, don't get me wrong. Oh, and I *HATE* the Season 3 remix.
GodofReapers 3 months ago
@GodofReapers I agree that it is a little odd, but I think that's just because we're used to the other openings. It really speaks to the history of exploration from the first attempts to take to the sea through space exploration. It takes a huge amount of faith to go into the unknown. It's that faith and courage they're getting at here. Beautiful song and nice comment! :)
Cheetah531 3 months ago
This is the most stunning opening I've ever seen. It's the perfect presentation of human engineering and science... and every time I see this video I know that together mankind can take this final step to the stars. Hopefully, men take that chance.
Best wishes and a peaceful future from Germany!
Chrissi1986 3 months ago
This song is a good fit to are space program. It shows are willingness we had to go out there (Space) and try to really explorer the Heavens. To bad thou that the US decided to shout down the program to save money. :(
KingBoaz100 4 months ago

But, hey, if that's just me , then fuck me, but, it's not. ;)

XAdmPopeye 4 months ago 4
This theme was .... unfortunate. The other "Trek" movies and series all had great instrumentals during the opening credits, the kind of thing you'd expect from John Williams.
This sounds like Michael Bolton singing a commercial for Dodge pickup trucks. I really think it contributed to the failure of the series. Ponderous.
TheNeonRabbit 4 months ago
This was an absolutely perfect beginning for Enterprise. It documents humanity's rise to reaching the stars and having done on its own through great hardships. It embodies everything that Star Trek stands for and if you don't get it then you are listening to the lyrics. I just wish the show itself could have captured the excitement and wonder that these opening credits gave me.
scifi75 4 months ago
i thought this song was just a horrible fit for the show. you need a nostalgic orchestrated theme song
snap2snip 5 months ago
@snap2snip it is REALLY great song and fits with what Enterprise is.
Cheetahrun75 5 months ago 2
@snap2snip I have to agree that for the most part it is. However, that doesn't detract from how good the show is. Another point I'd like to throw out there is that even though the song wasn't a good fit, it is still pretty damn good and when looked at from this context does add something to the show, just not enough.
KarazhanIsCake 4 months ago

@Xantheus07 that's ok you're fine, in fact i'd go one further and say that what you said could apply to all the poloticians today. but you know what? if we want poloticians to change and to shift focus on what's important, like space exploration, WE need to change. a garbage infested public is going to produce garbage infested leaders. the question is, are humans ready to evolve themselves to a higher form of thinking and work together to put ourselves on the right track? time tells.

Good Series this, a shame it was about two seasons shorter than it was going to be.
I never understood why they went for a song for Enterprise though, when all but the original Star Trek series had used Openings without Lyrics.
The Mirror Universe Episodes were especially good, wish there were more
(still trying to find a full version of the Opening Theme used for those two).
