  • YEAH ! Thanx - enjoyed that a lot - could you please post a track listing.

  • cheers man glad you liked it, there is a full tracklist in the comments section on here.

  • Great man!

  • Sick mix. I'm just getting into spinning and am only spinning 70s - 80s funk. You have the exact style I'm trying to get into. I believe my current issue is my cartridge and needle cause My scratching (the actual sound)never sounds like that. thanks though

  • Hey man, glad to hear your startin out dj-in specially with just soul era records that takes dedication! The sounds are from a record with specific samples for scratching. The main series of records to go for with samples are the 'Dirt style' records, good starting ones are 'Heehaw Braykes' and '100mph backsliding turkey cuts' these are specifically designed for scratching with loads of samples you can pick them up from good record shops for around £10-14 hope that helps

  • Cheers, back then is was two citronic PD45 turntables a Stanton SA-5 mixer and stanton 500 carts.

2 - Tony Avlon and the Belairs - Sexy coffee pot

3 - The Meters - Same old Thing

4 - The Beginning of the End - Funky Nassau (Pt 1)

5 - Freddie Henchi & The Soul setters - Funky to the bone

All 12" tracks can be found on 'Funk Drops - breaks, nuggets and rarities' - warner music. and excellent collection of funk classics

    thanks for your interest!

  • Thank you!

    I luv' it ^^

  • Nice man

Top tune selection. The blending isnt that awful Funk is more about what you drop not how you drop it.

Boom bap and most def BIP

  • yeah......

  • love the funk, five stars ;)

  • awesome mix,i do some funk mix 2

dont have a camera yet to put it up on youtube

  • Whats wrong with house, house is funky music. I liked that part from Vajra's routine. Work on the actual blending and trick mixing rather than just crash mixing.

  • firstly i love house music, but it's all i hear in my area:P secondly i know wat u mean, the blending needs work and i need to get rid of nerves, it ruins my scratching. i guess the trick mixing and blending will come with time and practice
