Headline is misleading. What he clearly was responded to was the question of whether he thought it should be held there. Any other assertion is opinion.
He was asked whether he liked that the rally was held there. That's obviously what he was responding to. Just because one sentence came after the other, does not mean it was a continuation of that thought (It's a free country).

In Patrick's mind the question about the rally ended with "do you wish it wasn't where it was, when it was".
He answered "it's a free country", then continued to say he wished the rally wasn't where it was and when it was by saying "I wish it wasn't".. then embraced freedom again saying "but it's a free country and you have to respect that".
He switched context in the middle of his answer. Muddled mind. I am no fan of Patrick but you have to see the context here.

Deval went on to say that if the people of MA voted to roll back the sales tax to 3% from the 6.25% it now is (because of the 1.25 hike he signed into law) that he would probably ignore the will of the voters. My family is still waiting on their property tax relief that you ran on-I bet you have to use that $ to pay all your friends that work for you now or your Caddy or your 12K in drapes.

He was asked whether he liked that the rally was held there. That's obviously what he was responding to. Just because one sentence came after the other, does not mean it was a continuation of that thought (It's a free country).
I agree, they do, but this right here is pretty weak stuff. It's what Media Matters does to Glenn Beck on a constant basis.
