  • great well done, wish there were more people like you,

  • Is it for sale?

  • @jhawkdesign I really have thought about it since I retired and it really isnt being used as often as it should be. Make me an offer I cant refuse? :-)

  • @ElectricBobber I would like to own it but am saving my chips for a Heritage Softail!

  • @tagger956 I'm afraid not. But there is an option to recharge the batteries during braking where the motor is, for a short period, changed into a generator. I did not go with that option as the braking time would not have been long enough to do much of any good.

  • Man I was thinking "all u need is some baseball cards in the spokes. Well done. I know how much work it is to do something like this. I really like the extension cord idea. Very nice. 5*s on your build.

  • this is pretty cool now all you gotta do is put some baseball cards in the spokes so it makes a harley sound lol

  • why the gas tanks ?

  • I would get some solar panels and plug it in for some free energy you could even make your own I do. Check out my panels I show you everything.

  • Comment removed

  • have you tried it on the street with traffic

  • @honeybunchickens Yes, I've been riding it to work and around town for nearly 3 years. See my second video of the electric bike.

  • Well done. Just wondering why you left the gas tank on?

  • @henrybwang See the Electric Bobber video, part 2 of mine for the answer. The tank stores the electric extension cord to plug it in.

  • @henrybwang for looks man what did you think

  • i'm watching all these awesome electric motorcycle vids (yours is awesome, btw!) and i can't help but wonder how something like a mountain bike gearing system would work on one of these things lol

  • thats cute

  • Not quite got that harley sound to it lol

  • @84landy See my other videos for that Harley sound!

  • bagus tuh ramah lingkungan broooo!

    go green! LOL

  • @biprojectbit Terima kasih atas komentar Anda. Lihatlah video saya yang lain juga.

  • Man, you are a talented and gifted person...I can only imagine the thought, work and energy that went into your creation! With that aside, what compelled you to make an electric motorcycle? I would love to see what you could do with a piston engine in a bike frame. Once again, amazing, great job! I hope you are enjoying it!

  • @nutz4all Thanks for the compliment. The price of gas here was $4.28 when I built Sparky. Thats what compelled me to try and build an electric bike. Take a look at my other videos if you want something that runs on gas instead the batteries. There you'll find bikes that I've created unlike any others. Thanks again.

  • good job and all, but i'll be damned if I ever put my ass on one of those electric scooters. you just can't beat the real gasoline sucking bikes! good luck and congrats on the bike!

  • @fcarabat Thanks for the compliment ..I think? Take a look at my other bike projects here on youtube for something you would put your ass on!

  • Electric chopper

  • my utmost respect on building this electric motorcycle

    American ingenuity

  • Sparky is a real shocking bike if you ride it in the rain...LOL LOL

    No sparkys a cooool bike!

  • Hi there, just wondering where you got the motor from and what was the total cost to build? im considering going down a similar track with my bobber.

    Chris

  • @Chrisalchin

    me too...interesting motor

  • @Chrisalchin There are a number of electric motorcycle parts suppliers online. Just google "electric motorcycle parts". My total costs werent that bad. Labor costs would kill the idea. But then again, if it was your labor then it would be free. My initial costs were less then $5000 ...more then $900 just in batteries. The motor I used was an ETEK ($450), since then they've improved the motor and call it something else now. See evalbum.com for more inspiration. Good Luck.

  • @ElectricBobber thanks for anwsering my friend.greetings from greece.

  • what is sparkys range on a single charge?

  • @ljmkinney I estimate 25 to 30 miles, I'd rather not find out for sure...it's be a long push home!

  • Some art deco tin hiding the batterys would spif it up some.

  • @505197 What would tell you it was an electric bike going down the road if I had the batteries covered up? I want the world to see that this 'going green' actually can work! Seeing the batteries there and watching the bike zip around might spur someone else to build an even better bike.... thanks for looking, but it'll stay as is. Greg

  • sounds like a two-stroke.

  • @WASUPSTEVO52 lol

  • Wicked shit Pops..

  • i like-but must say obnoxious engine noise is part of the fun of motorcycles. I'm a drummer and i ride a straight pipe honda cb750 from the stone age-my neighbors love me.

  • sweet ride.... How fast dose it go you think?

  • Love all the effort put into Sparky - especially keeping the tank to hide extension cord. Well done!

  • what would it do with a 6 speed tranny? Range and speed ?

  • Silent Run... Great Maschine, so, where is your Report about sparky??

  • a few oil drops aint bad to clean up, but if ya drop it, a little electrolite, oooops.

  • Good for you guys..awesome..now we don't need Arab oil..we'lll just windturbien it in..nice..no wwIII.

  • Just need to fab some sort of cool looking covers with some front vents to help the batts stay cool ! thats awesome what you have done congrats.

  • Keeps all the neighbors happy ;)

  • hay, thats sweet, but something just dont look rite with the batterys. i dont have any ideas to sudjest. nice job though.

  • Thats Fantastic. Very sharp looking bike. Its a deam of mine to build one one day as well.

  • At least put some baseball cards in the wheels to make a little noise!!!

  • Awesome!

  • so strange to see a bike like that not making the right kind of noise. absolutely cool and anyone that doesn't say so, is an absolute liar.

  • loud brushes save lives.

  • This is very innovative! Dont let negative comments bother you! And yes I ride a harley...

  • awesome machine! how does it handle with all those batteries, what size motor you got in sparky? i like it and wish i had the money to build one. have fun man.

  • i would put some speakers on to play the recording of a real engine

  • @tzutzescu how would you like it if all the cars in your neighborhood were replaced with loud motorcycles 24/7?

  • @tzutzescu Haha, an endless recording of "Potato Potato Potato" running in the background.

  • POS

  • @capttony11421 NEG.........?

  • @capttony11421 Why?? great work, but if we have to ride bikes like that in the future then there's just no point in bothering anymore..

  • cant wait to say good bye to gas....

  • And the gas tank is for???

  • @ChristianPhalange The Tank is for storage of the 10 foot extension cord thats underneath one of the gas caps. I'm able to plug it in wherever I go as long as there is an outlet within reach.

  • IN THE YEAR 2000 !!

  • Killer!!!

  • @diemuellerei Danke!

  • how long does it take to fully recharge the batteries ? thnx

  • @roofcrash Depends on how far you've ridden it. It has 5 three amp chargers, one per battery, after a 7 mile commute it'll take 4+ hours to recharge. Thanks.

  • Beautiful bike, and terrific conversion job! Read all 169 comments to date. I didn't understand what all the complaining was about wrt the lack of noise until I watched the "Angry Monkey" Bobber vid suggested next. I heard that and suddenly understood why so many people have their panties all in a twist. "Ohhh, THAT'S what its supposed to sound like!" :) Anyway, no complaints here. Great job, great looking bike, and I like how you stuck to your guns all the way through the comments. Perfection!

  • @easternpa2 Thank you. I can't believe how many people don't get it and they admit it! Oh well, takes all kinds. Thanks again for your interest.

Buena suerte y gracias.

  • Very Nice. I would cover the batteries in black aluminum though. It would have a more "finished" look. How many kW is the motor?

  • 2 cool

  • why??????????????

  • Hats off to you sir. Thats quite a project.

  • sell me those forks

  • somehow cool....

  • I just hate how the batteries look. Maybe in the future engineers can design the batteries to actually look like a really big engine? Or just have like a chrome case to conseal the batteries in? I duno...

  • @MichealDarwin or you could build a plastic or fiberglass cover!!!!

To the Op, thank you for the video and building a great machine. (even though it is a cruiser ;)

  • wow! awesome, but i miss the sound of a real bike... I would connect an ipod+speakers and play some motorcycle sounds ;).. just kidding. really nice bike.

  • @EmoAssociation oh this would be realy an Option with speakers...in "Pimp my Ride" they did something...does anyone know wich episode?

  • Cool bike. What's in the gas tank?

  • Loud Pipes Save Lives!

  • just a great job!!! thinking people!! and hands on work people! but.. please, were to get a controler box? do you have any skematics? see you.

  • cute.

  • THE BIKE..KINDA LOOKS GOOD..BUT WOULD NEVER BE A DAILY DRIVER

  • @RONALD511 But I do use it as a Daily commuter! I do have three other Harleys so I have to limit something but this bike does get plenty of use I assure you. Thanks for the complement...kinda.

  • @RONALD511 What makes you say that? Also educate yourself on the proper usage of caps lock. To the original poster. Great job! Looks great.

  • Listen to the sound of raw 12V power!

  • Bravo! Fanfuckingtastic! Amazing!

  • I dont believe electric bike will never get good market since people love motorcycle rumble and exhaust sound !!! how much more cylinders better it sounds !!

  • that was fargin cool. now i know what my grandkids will be riding when they get into scoots!

  • ive heard the accaleration is brutal, but those yellow tops must waigh a metric ton, hows well do your breaks stop that behemoth!? youy should get the biggest baddest sound competition alternator, maybe a generator, to engage when the breaks come on, and if there is such a thing and flexible solar panel, it should be laid on your fenders and tank for recharging =O

  • Superb job. I admire your classy workmanship. It still looks like a motorcycle and what a great idea to use the tank the way you have. No more peculiar than a Goldwing having a dummy tank for all the electrics. Do you think you might get round to having a gearbox? This is possibly the best looking electric motorcycles I have seen, but then I like the classic look anyway. Hats off to you mate!

  • @uraldneprvw Thank you. No, many have thought about a gearbox for their electric bike but the discussion is that it wouldn't serve much and would only add weight where weight is critical when dealing with electrics. Thanks again.

  • @ElectricBobber Yes, I get your point about the gearbox. What a shame (for me anyway) that you didn't make a video presentation of the building of this remarkable motorbike. Oooh I am so envious of your skill !

  • @ElectricBobber Yes, I get your point about the gearbox. What a shame (for me anyway) that you didn't make a video presentation of the building of this remarkable motorbike. Oooh I am so envious of your skill !

  • Too noisy, no emission approval ;)

  • nice

  • night shadow..

  • Awesome but it needs some baseball cards in the spokes bro... j/k ride hard have fun

  • how long does one charge last going at max power?

  • @AntiVenomFangX Sorry, I really dont know, and I'd rather not find out. It'd be a long push home.

  • Thats the damnedest thing I've ever seen! Cool!

  • Wow! Great!! Looks nice, too!

  • 60v?? how many Amp Hours do those batteries have??

  • @usernamefromhell They are rated at 52 amp hours.

  • the sound of pipe is awesome

  • why need the tank when not using any gas?

  • @lowgonn It serves the purpose of storing the extension cord so you can charge it anywhere you find a 115v plugin. Besides it wouldn't look right without one. Thanks.

  • @ElectricBobber oh.thanks for the info.i've always been wondering about it

  • ohh yes.. my bicycle with cyclone electric motor kit ( 1500 W Motor ,48 volt 10 Ah lifpo4 battery, double freewheel system ) . i can ride 60-70 km /h with it.. do u believe me ..????

  • but its cool nice build

  • ohhh mannnnnnnn my 1500 W electric bicycle go faster than your bike ha ha ha

  • @male222 Your bicycle will go faster than 52 mph? Yikes. Hats off to you!

  • WoW a peak into the future eh sweet

  • Nice job !! i notice you have 60 volts there. Are you using 48 volt motor and using the 5th battery for the head light/tail lights and controls for the primary system?

what kind of controller and charger are you using?

sorry if you have already covered this but that is a lot of post to go through

  • If loud pipes saves lives, this guy is in a lot of touble!

  • how fast can it go and how far before charging?

  • For i long time i was dreaming of one day building my on battery power chopper, but i didn't know how, so after watching your video i finally can. Thank you very much. Hope to post a video if i can make one :)

  • funny i was waiting for it to hear it fire up and then he just started moving...good concept!

  • @eppy14 I guess I was too ...as I reached for the clutch lever to go ...and there wasnt one! hahah

  • thats just sooo wrong not to hear the pipes popping, but its really cool that you made one!

  • you need brushless motors and lithium batteries

  • lol congrats... but its not very pretty in the engine.. im an engine guy but still amazing what you did again congrats.

  • muy bueno

  • @SADISTICOITO Gracias

  • sounds like tram lol but anyway mad! lol good job!

  • That is the first and onlyt reliable harley I've ever seen!!! ;)

  • Dude, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen, totally cool, so cool a lot of people don't get it, cant wait to see someone do an electraglide dresser like this -lots of room for the batteries.

  • @iggyward Thank you. The touring bikes would be a bit too heavy. Weight is a big factor in building an electric bike. Thanks again.

  • What kind of range/top speed do you get on that bike? And how long does it take to charge? Those look like Optima batteries so I assume the base weight for each one is less than a wet battery. The only hold back I'd really have on an electric bike is the practicality of everyday riding. I ride my Shadow everywhere and would hate to constantly worry about the batteries running down.

  • @arachknight1979 I've been up to 52mph, but the bike likes between 30 and 40mph the best which is perfect for my small town. It'll last me up to 25 miles on a charge which again is perfect for my running around everyday. Thanks.

  • O man I have so many ?ns that thing is so cool. keep riding man and let it bang.

  • THAT ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! GREAT JOB!! where are the vids of u building it?

  • man please stop...put a vtwin in that bitch an roll i saw your comment about building harleys thats fine but wtf man....thats not fun cool or n e thing im not hating but my god thats wrong...

  • @paulwade101 Yeah, I was mocking it up with a EVO 80 inch when gas got to $4.38 locally so I went this direction. Gets a lot of interest on the street, more than my Harleys. Thanks for Not hating it. But it is more right than wrong ...and pretty much fun. Guess it's all in one's prospective. Post a video of your bike.

  • @ElectricBobber Awesome bike and a really smart idea. Someday (unfortunately) these bikes will be the norm, so you are ahead of your time. My only criticism is that the batteries look lame in comparison to a chromed engine. Maybe you could paint them, or even better... how about a box around them made out of diamond plate sheet metal. Chrome!! CHROOOOMMMME! Anyway... nice bike.

  • anti-climactic.....

  • very cool man. do you plug it in? is it self charging as it runs? hw fast does it go? TELL US MORE!

  • cool

  • I LIKE IT !!!!! w o w !!!!!!

  • I've heard of rolling thunder, maybe that's rolling lightning?

  • You shouldn't embarrass yourself with something that awful! Can I have it?

  • ....e ma che è na bicletta elettrica???

  • @GraficheAmelio No, not a bicycle. Just electric motobike. Grazie.

  • better put a patten on it very cool.could be a new green thing

  • That's just all kinds of wrong! If those Harley parts were alive they'd kill themselves.

  • @MarkMyWay Not to worry, I build Harleys also. I've got 3 Harleys and 1 electric. All fun.

  • Hi i like. do you have any plans to replace the lead acid battery with new lith-ion batters. what is the range of your bike? thanks

  • how far can you go on one charge?

  • Wow Sr. Beautifull town, where is it?

And congratulations for your bike, Electric, noiseless, fast enough, very functional and versatil. I love it!, huw much do you think you spend to build it?.

Again, Congratulations Sr. I think you're very happy!.

  • Cool little bike.

  • dont listen to the knockers mate

    that thing is cool

good to see someone is thinking outside the square

  • @gunnasmc Thanks, I like your bike also. Very nice, I use to have one many years ago when I was younger.

  • @gunnasmc You mean the box rite? lol

  • I am very interested in building my own bike. I would really like to pick your brain on the details such as the exact components you used. What motor and controller did you use?

  • Hey, plug in a speaker with a screaming eagle exhaust loop playing , all power up from the batteries and you're set to go :P . Aside from that, brilliant job mate, keep up the good work.

  • cool bike man, but it just isnt right, I mean u got the chopper look, but no sound, a lot of the reason why choppers are cool is because they're loud. maybe put a big speaker on there and sum recorded audio

  • Hats Off Dude! Great Job, I think a sport bike version would be awsome.

  • such a sweet idea! loving it electric bobber! haha awsume

  • Looks good. But a tad on the heavy side.. Are you planning for any upgrades, maybe a transmission to pump up the speed? Or any idea on how to up the range.?

  • @teverzczuk No, its fine for my small town as it is. I dont need to go any faster or any longer. Thank you.

  • That looks a lot cooler than most electric bike thats for sure.

  • so quite!!!!!!!!

  • That's nice, I kept waiting to hear the motor at first! How's the weight?

  • What size of sprockets do you on the front and back?

  • is it your-own idea?nice..pls give more details about your motorcycle

  • Fantastic! I'm restoring an old Est-German bike. I'm wanting to go electric. The change to electric will have to come sooner or later. I bet the riding feel does not suffer with your bike, must be awesome.

  • the only way it can be worse than gas is where your home electricity comes from

  • My State is almost completely Hydro Electric or Wind Generated electricity. Not a big worry.

  • Great!
