Toyosatomimi no Miko.... Who the hell can remember that at first try??? Anyway nice soundtrack just like any other ones from Ten Desires. I have to say that Ten Desires has really grown on me. It became my favorite Touhou game in no time. Nice gameplay, nice backgrounds and nice BGMs. I can't really think of anything bad to say to this game. So 100/5

As much as I agree that the music isn't necessarily as "intense" as previous Stage 6 Boss themes, I think this one fits better with the character and the spellcards she uses more than most of them do.

I mean, hearing the section between 2:28 and ~3:00 on any of Miko's last three spell cards (extended to 3:25 for the last one) gives me such a rush its unbelievable, and I've never felt that cohesion between the music and the danmaku so richly with any other Stage 6 boss.

It's a personal opinion, but I think his music has become more and more lackluster in comparison to his earlier stuff. By no means are any of his compositions BAD, I still enjoy listening to all/most of it, but most of the themes he's been producing lately just aren't as endearing as the ones from, say, PCB or EoSD.

While a lot of the tunes from Touhou 12 to Touhou 13 certainly may not sound the same compared his past music, and by extension not as catchy, I feel that a large portion of that is just him switching up his composing style. While a minority, I've actually seen people who enjoy Ten Desires music as much as or over other music in the series. It's likable in a different way. And there will always be melodious gems like Rigid Paradise or Desire Drive, to.

@LuckySmash9 I think part of my distaste with it is that he's shying further away from western influences in his music - Ten Desires is very fitting of its characters, which are deep-rooted in Buddhism and other non-Western ideals, by utilizing musical motifs and techniques that we don't hear often over here. It sounds very foreign, and compared to his previous works, very distanced from the "norm" of ZUN's work. Again, nothing he's done is bad. Thank you for being objective with me.

I'm starting to think that the reason that this song has no Spirit World version is that Miko exists in both the Normal World and the Spirit World,and has influence and control in both, so it doesn't really matter where you are, her song will be the same.

Miko is more of an anti-Christ figure (she wanted to submit Japan via religion so that she may comfortably pursue her goal of apotheosis). She makes herself out to be the savior of humanity from youkai, which is why youkai see her more as a supreme evil figure (I believe comparing anybody to Hitler is incredibly tasteless). Byakuren is an anti-Christ figure in the eyes of Miko (attempting to usher in a new era).

Think of the Celestials, only lower in the hierarchy. Byakuren became a magician, which is the equivalent of becoming a youkai due to eliminating the need for sleep and food.

After Suwa Foughten Field, Nuclear Fusion, and Atomic Mind before it... this song just doesn't seem to fit the bill for a final boss theme to me. Granted it's good, but it could have been used somewhere else. I guess ZUN wanted to go back to his Septette days or something... that's the only other FB theme that is this... well, slow. I have to say it, I think true administrator is a bit slow. but that's my taste. it'd likely fit someone else out there better.

I gotta say, Miko's 'ability' kind of left me underwhelmed. Remi could tweak fate, Yuyuko could kill, Eirin and Kaguya had medicine and Eternity-manip, Suika density, Shikieiki could see things in black and white (which does have its many uses), Kanako's a GODDESS of wind and rain, Tenshi could control the land and weather, Utsuho's got nuclear power, Byakuren has superhuman buff spells, but Miko?

Miko can listen to up to 10 people at once. Color me a touch unimpressed by comparison . . .
