@iowabeefshowman thanks a bunch for the complement. I will pass if on to the nephew. We are pretty happy with her, although she is not a tall as we would like, but she is so eye appealing and has a fantastic personality that we love.

You can halter break a calf at any age, caleb, the real key to breaking a calf is patience patience patience. What I do is tie them up for about an hour a day and feed them as soon as I let them loose, that way they know they will be rewarded. As for how long it takes, all I can say is that it depends on the calf. Some sires are known to have calmer calves than others.

@caleb1808 this heifer was easily halter broke. She had only been put in the chute a couple of times when we got her. Quite possibly the easiest calf we have ever trained to halter. When my nephew walked her at the beginning (he is a big boy at 11) we still had her necktie on and one of us held it and he had the halter so she wouldn't have the chance to get away, but she never offered to. But other than that, you can put a halter on a baby calf if you have the momma on your show string.
