  • Amazing piece of work! Great review.

  • I love the sound of this guitar... Had a fright when i seen the price :)

  • @pete001uk

worth every single Dollar/Euro. (this counts only for the Made in Germany Models, IMHO)

  • Press and hold 5 on your keyboard, and he will play the intro from Ace of Spades by Mötorhead...

  • @bsoerig85

    better: motörhead.

not sure what you mean by that...

  • @ThomasSchuber

Press and hold 5 on your keyboard when the video play ;-)

  • SPONGEBOB !

  • If only I saw this two years ago and lived in Germany and had money. Darn. Great review though; plenty more entertaining than most reviews. (:

  • @GigoTheDoctor

Sorry Gigo, I have no Idea about Jazz at all.

  • Awesome playing, Dude!!!

  • Dude!!! Awesome playing!!!

  • Thanks for the video! I really love Höfner guitars and i am considering buying a verythin in a short future. Thanks again for the video!

  • hey, you're welcome! Too bad mine is already gone...

  • My lord. I have this guitar. It's a jazz guitar, named after an elite jazz guitarist. It's a great instrument, but you can't demo something intended as a jazz guitar by playing a few rock riffs and some flaccid fingerpicking. The instrument was never designed for those styles of music, and your video does it no justice.

  • First: I can't play jazz, that would be no help

Second: Jazz capabilities of this thing are undisputed, JS himself is proving that

third: the construction of this guitar doesn't limit it to one Style which I proved, I guess.

Four: see the comment of Jstowell further down

Five: so you have one! Your turn! can't wait for you displaying your earthshaking skills on your channel.

I am not surprised there is nothing to see yet.

    how "Flaccid" is that...

  • Had to remove my comment... was wondering if this is made in the same factory as the China ones... well, you answered the question in the end of the video, so forget about it. Very nice sounding guitar & nice playing!

  • Nice vid. You should get a Gretsch!

  • is this guitar sold? sounds great!

  • yes it's sold

  • Thanks. Watched several videos with your band. Sounding great!

  • Thanks for an excellent demo. We don't have a Hofner dealer in northern cal. If the neck is too thin for you, how thin would you describe it? Like a early 60's Les Paul? Good luck on the Benz repair..

  • I guess the neck is super-comfy for any player.

I simply like Necks in the baseball-bat-league.

maybe close to a standard 335?

no hofner dealer in Northern Cal?

  • Thomas,

The only dealer or distributor is in Chicago. Thank you for your response. Merry Christmas.

    Steve in No. Cal.

  • SOLD. yeah.

  • Classic rock riffmaster! I dig it - well done!

  • Hi,

nice sound and an awsome guitar. wich amp did you use for this video?

  • Hi there, as usual it's a MesaBoogie SubwayBlues through a Palmer Speaker Sim.

  • Hi Thomas,

You did a very nice job demoing my guitar. Hope you get a buyer so that you can get your Mercedes running.

Maybe we'll meet when I play in Germany.

    Regards,

    John Stowell

  • Oh my God...

Hi John, glad you like the demo!! though i guess i play a completely different style an sound (and skill-level).

Oh, a question to you: what gauges do you put on it?

    (I went for 11-46)

Yeah, maybe I'll drop by when you ply over here!

  • Hi Thomas,

I started using some very light strings on my Hofner that I like, Thomastik KF 110 precisions. They're flat wound (.010-.038) and don't sound thin for such a light string. I did a gig a few weeks ago with my Hofner using these strings, and you can see a YouTube clip of one tune from the gig. Type my name in the search box of the YouTube site, and look for the "Scenes-Live at Jazz Alley" clip. It's a home video, but the quality is OK.

Hope to meet you in the future.

    Regards,

    John

  • my dad has a cream coloured one of these guitars, it's the only semi-accoustic i'd ever play...amazing!

  • hey man that video was verey good, nice indepth review. i have the verythin model and hofners are very nice arent they. not to mention your great guitar playing really showed off the guitar's brilliance. 5 stars and im subscribing, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO ME TOO. awesome man, very good

  • No, I wasn't stoned.

Just 31 degrees Centigrade and Humidity beyond all...

I also dig the Tone but I surely miss a Bridge PU and an adjustable bridge, and I just can't bring myself to drilling Holes into it. So it will be sold. : (

  • Nice demo. I really like the tone and the great playing.

  • You look and sound quite stoned in this vid ;)
