@beermacht yeah maybe they had a hit with that song...but they did not get to number one or into the top 10 over europe like quo did..and now the In the army now 2010 version will again enter the top 10 in the first week of october, cause they long ago "bought" the song from B&B, thats why they are allowed too change the lyrics for the Charity Version of in the army now :) rock on
@TheChrischi1981 Im old enough to remember that this was actually a big hit, when i was young, Quo made a remake ofg this, and also got a big hit with it, which still today is considered the biggest hit from them.,
@PerPohlmann yes...but when people talk about IN THE ARMY NOW, they talk about Quo not about Bolland and Bolland..so who had the bigger hit with the song? John Fogerty wrote ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD..but who had the big hit? :)
This is just one track off their great concept album "The Domino Theory" that hardly anybody bought at the time. But with the royalties they earned from the Status Quo hit they bought a recording studio in The Netherlands. Clever guys.............
Whoa!! I haven't heard this version since it first came out!...'85 or '86. I'd love to get my hands on this record for about 10 minutes...afterward it would be digitized forever!!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!!
true i like status quo a lot in their early years but the rip off of this song is tottall crap although im proud they took dutch low underrated artists songs.
I was waiting for the bus in Marseille and heard this song playing inside of a car in a red light and I was like hmmm, I like that. Of course I can find it on youtube. Thanks for posting.
Das ORININAL ist immmer noch DAS BESTE: BOLLAND & BOLLAND, einfach genial..

Quo´s version is much better! Thats why they got a Hit with that song and not Bolland and Bolland

@TheChrischi1981
maybe you're to young to get it.
b&b had the hit - even when SQ revive the song - the money still goes to b&b.
the "almostrockversion" from SQ isn't my "thing" - but b&b wrote this hit and it was a hit in the early 80's

Quo's version is way better then this. Nice that this song is actually Dutch, though.

I don't see why the big discussion which version is better really.
There is no shame in liking both versions of one song, but it is also correct that this is the original.
The undeniable facts state that this song rocks the fuck out of a lot of modern music.

this is a Bolland brothers work, status quo makes only a cover of this piece.

Wish LPs were still huge in the music buisiness, they have a certain charm to them.
