Why not clean up the ditch, make it wider and filter the water the best you can. It was filled with trash. No wonder the chickens were getting sick and dying. Aren't they worried that animals drinking out of the ditch will get garbage passed along in the eggs? ick! Dig the ditch wider so your ducks can float. Happy ducks make more eggs. The bird and rabbit droppings and food scraps =compost=excellent gardens=food=less money paid for food at market. Wonderful ideas but don't go far enough
