YES!!! believe it or not i lost your uploads and now after a year i found them! is their any chance of the mp3 from this??? thanks for the tunes, they never get old!
The whole song is really good but the part from 1:11 to 1:40 is truly awesome - not exploited enough in my opinion. You'd have stolen my ex-girlfriend with that tune and gear, she was a fan of Le Knight Club, Alan Braxe... and could be aroused sexually by these DP4 phasers.
You have a sweet arsenal of gear! SP1200, 909, 808., and the Linn! How the hell do you sync them all up that tight? Also, what unit are you using to filter the whole mix?
@916Squatter the whole mix is filtered with a A&H xone vf1, regarding the sync i have midified my 808 and usually i trigger the linndrum (just like in my video "My Old School Boom Boom Factory") everything else is straight midi :)
there is more talent and naturality in this videoclip edited in half with just a couple of video chops than in most of those ridiculously shitty mega productions made only to show off and at the cost of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands dollars.
Please stay like this.
also the sounds are beautiful, and the music, while maybe not extremely original sounding, it's very pleasant and joyful. It's also well produced.
Oh god, just an update, I've listened to this song on repeat so many times today. If this was on Homework..it'd be my favourite song LOL
I'm guessing the 2:15 was the mutator? Freakin awesome filter sound, always get the feeling of being outside a club :D it doesn't sound unnatural compared to some filters
I'm so bad at recognizing drum samples, what was used for the snare?
@Jordo54321 the filter used at 2min15 is the allen heath vf1, if i remember correctly the snare is some 909sd layered with linndrum sd sampled in the sp1200
Holy fuck, partway through the song this gets so sick
Just a quick production question, in french house, I noticed on the big climaxes it gets all airy, 2:48 is an example, just feels like everything is all opened up
Is it a ride that has some reverb and some EQing in the higher freqs? Is that the only thing giving it some air? I can never figure it out, maybe its the phaser too mixed with it thats giving it that sonic presence. I dunno, but the mixing is done just how I like it.
@Jordo54321 no special tricks there, just the basic mixing and eq (wich is definitely not my cup of tea and always a dissapointement when i compare my work to the big names...)
@kidysputpikii But don't forget the big names had their material finished at second to none mastering studios. The mastering studio that done all of Daft Punks albums is about 20 minutes from my house, they have incredible equipment.
What are using for mixing and processing ? My mission was to stay with hardware, but i realised im never gonna be able to get most of the processors i like in my project studio. Digital/DSP is a good comprimise. I've got UAD stuff but... cont'd
@kidysputpikii i bought the Focusrite Liquid Mix32 and im quite surprised. You can get 32 channels simultaneously of eq and comp and it does sound good. Some are better than the UAD stuff.
Also, what monitors are you using ? Does your room need any acoustic treatment ? I built my own bass traps and diffusers and my mixes translate alot better now across different systems. Still, it needs that mastering touch that in my opinion is best left to those who specialize in it.
I almost forgot all about you, as in, i haven't checked out my Youtube and my studio is only half 'sewn up'. So production has taken a back seat for a while.
Im so glad to see you have more uploads. You are my favourite producer on Youtube. The freshest sound around.
This track is awesome, full of the good flavours. If i can offer one critique, is that some of the chopped sample lines don't sound 'sewn together'. But please, don't get the wrong idea. contd..
this is a wicked track! i have spent my australia day afternoon listening to yours and other french house! lol! Well worth it! can i ask how and what are you using for that funky bass that sounds like a bass guitar. done a bit of research and everyone says its a ms20. i know you got one and xone filter too. keep up the good work!

So its a clean 12 bit. Hmmm. Didnt know that existed... Cool. Does it got a good punch to it? Or is it better suited for strings etc?

What does the s550 excel at?
tonykanemusic 1 year ago
it's a 12 bits not so dirty sampler with great filter, you can do pretty much everything with it :)
