  • CAPT BINGHAMTON RULES!!

  • I loved it when Tim Conway would get his hands on the 50cal machine gun.

  • Lead Bottom is rockin'!

  • COOL - THX!

  • Umm how how

when I love you baby please dont go

    uhmm how now how now

    thump thump thump!

    Boat capsizes!

  • hysterical!

  • I love it at the end when Christy tries to wake up Parker. Tim Conway looks like he's dead tired. Great clip!

  • i lost my copy of this wonderful blooper...thank you so much for putting it out there

  • grate old show

  • this was on Dick Clarks show about 20 years ago, I have it on VHS some where, it was Hilarious (-:

  • This is awesome! Thanks :) I love McHale's Navy and every character in it! To see them doing this is just fantastic. Very special, entertaining and priceless clip.

  • I loved this show, utter classic but I'm a real fan of Joe Flynn, I have his classic know it all, Binghampton black and white photo framed in my family room. He was the greatest!

Still hear him screaming McHale, you and your goons are through!!!!!

  • @Jimboyc21 Where the heck did you get that?

    AmDrag

  • This song was on the other day and I was reminded of this clip. I saw it many many years ago when this show first aired... can't believe I found it on YouTube... LOL! Thanks for posting!

  • My dad (ex-navy Chief) would have just cracked up at this.

  • i love this show im glad its still on RTV

  • Supposedly, they were waiting for a take and none of them knew the camera was rolling until after this happened. This just cracks me up everytime

  • WHY IS IT ALWAYS *SO COOL* AND STRANGELY SATISFYING TO SEE A CAST OF A TV SHOW ON THEIR SET & IN COSTUME, BUT BEHAVING OUT OF CHARACTER LIKE THIS!?!?!?! Just seeing Joe Flynn singing happily & not 'being' Captain Binghampton, and then DANCING with Ernest Borgnine brings on a massive smile!!!! LOL x 1000!!!!!

  • Ship Board Hooch-- so very dangerous in the wrong hands!

  • Freaking hilarious!

  • Is that Truman Capote?

  • @clarkbell No, thats Joe Flynn who played the irascible Captain Wallace "Wally" Burton Binghamton. Cmdr McHales commanding officer and nemesis on the show.

  • According to Dick Clark, they had no idea the cameras were rolling at the time.

  • i can just scream!!!

  • i would love to serve under Commander McHale!!!

  • joe flynn was a great straight man in comedies

  • The Rivingtons had nothing on this crew. :)

  • 0:42? LOL!

Get down, McHale and Binghamton, with your bad selves.

  • As Dick Clark himself would say, "A medley of their hit... Surprised"they didn't take that one to the "Bandstand"

  • @cr3861 LOL. Dick didn't tell us that it was because they didn't have enough money to get on the show...you had to pay DCs boys to get on.

  • Amazing show!

  • Love this show!!!!!

  • Leadbottom's the shit in this video.

  • No way. He was pretty cool.

  • Thats fuckin funny man.

  • very good!

  • God bless you Carl Ballantine, R.I.P.

    You were great.

  • I remember seeing this clip when it aired. This is not an outtake. They finished shooting for the day and the cameraman just kept the camera rolling. The actors did not know they were being taped.

  • This is classic! LOL

  • Mr.Dick Clark introduced this outake from"McHale's Navy"

    as "McHale's Glee Club!"on "TV's Bloopers".."Believe It Or

    Else?!".

  • The guy doing the lead part is John Wright who played willie --he is the son of country singers Johnnie Wright and Kitty Wells who are both still living in their 90s

  • Is John Wright still around? I don't remember him doing any otherwork outside of McHales navy.

  • he started recording under the name Bobby Wright [John is his father's name also--known as Johnnie Wright half of the duo Johnnie and Jack---Jack died in an auto wreck in 1963 on the way to Patsy Cline's funeral--].

  • @RockinEd John Wright (who played Willy), recorded as Bobby Wright and had a pretty decent career in country music after McHale's Navy went off the air. Kitty Wells is still living but Johnnie Wright passed away on September 27, 2011.

  • Whaddya know, Ernie Borgnine got a sense of humor. Whoddathunkit?

  • How true - what a pain in the ass that guy could be!

  • @7855waldo

It's what the series called for, Waldo. An unconventional naval officer who was just by-the-book enough that he could keep his crew of piratical schlockmeisters from being arrested and court-martialed by Old Leadbottom, each and every week. That doesn't necessarily mean Mr. Borgnine was like that in real life. Look at the late, great Carrol O'Connor. In real life, he was the polar opposite of Archie Bunker!

  • @Bustafunny

It's what known as versatility, Busta. Some actors got it. Others don't. Mr. Borgnine undeniably does. In addition to playing the sometimes-prudish Quinton McHale, he's also done FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (as the sadistic "Fatso" Rizzo); the CBS adventure series AIRWOLF (as old-school chopper pilot Dominic Santini); the romantic drama MARTY (as the love-lorn title character); and the original DIRTY DOZEN (as the no-nonsense general in charge of Lee Marvin).

  • Correct. There must be someone out there who has at least a couple of episodes recorded.

  • lol

  • HAAHAAAHAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAA

    OHHH that iS TOOO FUNNNNY!!!!!!!

    I'd heard they'd all had a BALL making it--What a scrrreeeeeammm!!!

    MANY thanks!~X^D

  • LMAO!

  • the series was so funny.... and now the talents of Borgnine and Conway are reunited in the cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants" as MermaidMan (Borgnine) and Barnacle Boy (Conway) a couple of retired superheroes.... hilarious.

  • Willy always did wierd stuff..... but this is the wierdest....

    AmDrag

  • very funny wish they showed this and the bloopers on the dvds i bought

  • He loosened up for once.

  • that is so funny , thanks

  • Are there any episodes of the 1969 series The Tim Conway Show co-starring Joe Flynn (the characters were "Spud" (Conway) and "Herb" (Flynn). I know the series was short-lived but if I could just see one episode...

  • I remember that show too. I think they played airline pilots, right?

  • SO Friggen funny I love it.. the old shows were the best.. wish they would play them again....

  • Funny!

  • What an f'n riot

  • and this is proof that us actors/actresses have no live in between takes!

  • It is Funny, But I wish Bingingham Stayed in Character

  • My dad fought in 6 compaigns as an infantryman in the 7th Infantry Division Pacific. (A miracle that he surrvived) but I remember quite clearly how he laughed his head off at this Sitcom every week when I was a kid. It makes me happy to see this today...but sad at the same time... thanks for posting!!!!

  • Frigg'n Navy PHM Hyrdofoils that had been based out of Key West. Talk about a McHales Navy

  • Thanks! McHale's Navy was one of the greatest shows of all times. SUCH heart!

  • Does anyone know which dvd season this blooper is on?

  • Great old show. My dad grew up with and lived next door to Ernie Borgnine back in Hamden, Connecticut. Watching the show was an absolute must. There hasn't been a show like it since.

  • They were overdue for either shore leave or a coffee break:)

  • @vince065us

More like a Sanka break, I'd say. ;-)

  • wow

  • Great stuff!

  • That was agreat video from a show that I loved. These guys were my friends after I came home from school.

  • The song is called Papa Oom Mow Mow

  • @kimvallejo

A golden oldie, indeed. Although, the backbeat is _superficially_ similar to a Phillipine Island novelty song I recently heard, elsewhere on Youtube. "Itak-Tak-Mo?"

  • Does anyone know the name of the song they are singing and the name of the original artist?

  • Papa Oom Mow Mow was originally done by The Rivingtons.

  • Thanks! Cracks me up!

  • I used to watch the show back in the 60's as a kid . I loved it and just cracked up watching this vid. Thanks.

  • This is not a blooper. It's a clip from one of the episodes. Ernest Borgnine is 91 and his autobiography just came out. Like Hogan's Heroes, the writing on McHale's Navy wasn't knee-slapping funny but the terrific cast was!

  • i love hogan's heroes. and this clip is so funny.

  • that was cool video

  • Sorry you feel that way. By the way, have you ever served in the military?

  • I did join the Navy on Jul 20 1963 because of that great show..

  • @m1a2h3 Thanks for your service. You guys helped save America back in those Cold War days. GO NAVY!

  • @m1a2h3 and was it like the show?

  • A classic!!! I only wish I had been a part of it.

This show influenced me to join the Navy and volunteer for swift boats.

  • Wow that was awesome, really funny! Thanks!

  • I wathed this when i was between 5 and 1o, same as Mash, too liberal, Baa Baa Black Sheep and of course Hogans Heroe's. Great shows, American prid. Now its all liberals push with agenda. There are 500 channels and nothing to watch. 25 years ago there were 30 with cable, and there was always something interesting on. Now its Discovery, comet day, earths destroyed, Global warming, the big one, The great sunami, hurricane, cyclone, super vulcano, plastic cup, oil, ice age, earths destoyed, etc.

  • damn good show , I wish people wouldn't be such pussies an put it back on,,,,,,,,spineless cable channel faggots

  • That looks like Wayne Rogers of MASH on the left. I actually have a vinyl LP of rockabilly that was released in the 1980s -- and this was actually included as a "bonus track"! It's about the same length as this so I don't know if a longer version exists anymore. I think it probably broke down soon after they started dancing - it was just a little goofing!

  • fantastic! yes, joe flynn's deadpan was great as was Conway's confused look.

  • Tim Conway (Parker) is doozing! Poor guy. Ernest Borgnine is hiliarus! Awsome.

  • good

  • This is a shorten version and maybe someone will post the full length one. Joe Flynn was the real star of the show. He always played the roll to a "T". May he rest in Peace.

  • This is great.

  • is the intro anywhere on this site ?

    thanks !

  • I remember seeing this on TV way back when. This is such a crack-up!!!! They must've really had fun on and off the show:)

  • I remember seeing this on TV way back when. This is such a crack-up!!!! They must've really had fun on and off the show:)

  • Now..That's rock Harmony!

    Go "McHale","Chuck","Capt.","Tink"etc.

  • Poor Tim Conway looks clueless!! Gary Vinson starts, then John Wright runs with it and in short order Joe Flynn, Ernest Borgnine and Edson Stroll join the fun! Nothing like blowing off steam between takes....

  • OMG AWESOME LOL
