Is fake novel I am somalian I know this is just fake imagination, and I know black mamba snake is a very dangerous snake is not something that to be joked,i hear many somalian telling these fake story but there is no way to proove it.
A very interesting story and an exellent account of the 2nd World War in that area of Africa. Have just sent a copy to a friend in New Zealand who recently worked in Eritrea. I now want to find out more ...
I have just finished reading this book and it has earned a permanant place on my bookshelves.....thank you, Nadifa for telling this wonderful story, of adventure and sadness and terrible things that happen in war time....but above all it is full of hope;
proof that the human spirit can overcome anything. Everyone should read it!
I've just bought this book and am currently just waiting for the delivery - I have made my friends learn about Nadifa's debut book too, so they've placed some orders as well. Hopefully it should live up to the expectations that arouse from tabloids such as the likes of The Time and The Guardian (where I've first read a review of this book).
I really like your story, it has personally touched me because the struggle of your father is similar to that of my uncle - who left Berbera at the age of six, he been to four continents by the age of 15.
He hustled and jumped from ship to ship until he finally ended up in the Philipines after been to Portugal, Spain, Middle East, Tanzania, Uganda, and now he is happily settled in Australia.
Your father was a soldier! Respect and I like that you made a personal acknowledgment to people with similar story or struggle.
Nice maashallah. Will look for this book inshallah - It will be the next book i read inshallah
