@CincoPontosTattooing The tube is basically just a piece of 1/8" ID plastic from a hardware store, you could also use copper tubing or even a bic pen if you wanted. As far as the papers, I use Buglers mostly. I've tried ZigZags but they're expensive. Just about any papers will work but some are less expensive and easier than others. I'll recommend that you DO NOT use Top brand though. They are gummed together like notebook paper and are a pain to get apart. Have fun.

I used to shoot wheel guns, but now do mostly single shots. When I did shoot wheels, I had trouble with the cryskal or lard getting warm, and turning to liquid, if I didn't shoot out all cylinders. Do you have any of that sort of problem, and if so, what's you solution. Thanks.

@sergeantsailorman If I'm gonna leave a gun loaded I don't use any lube at all. Shooting one cylinder with no lube isn't going to hurt anything. The other choice is to use lubed wads but they tend to foul the powder if left too long. You can also make your own lube using 1:1 beeswax and crisco in a double boiler. The beeswax is more temperature resistant but it also makes it harder to apply to the chambers.

@MrGr1874 Only if you include the ball in the cartridge when you roll it. That's why my cartridges have only powder and filler in them. Also, by tearing the end and pouring a few grains into the chamber first you get very little paper if any in the cylinder. Any that is left is not a problem and I never bother to clean it out before the next load.

Would they have used those same cartridges during the Crimean war in rifles? If so, how long would it have taken to load?

@caileansmith Cartridges were used by the military but these are not made for historical accuracy. Simply to make my life easier at the range.

I know of a couple of guys that do use lubed wads. Personally, I'm cheap & as you can see from the video, lazy. It's personal preference though. If you can figure a way to keep that little bugger straight and not fall over when you roll the cigarette paper you'll have it made. The only problem I can see is that the wad has to be a "dry" lube or you're gonna wind up fouling the powder simply because they won't get used right away.

Any hardware store, I think the inside diameter is 1/8". The trick is to find one that is smaller in outside diameter than the chamber of your gun. I wanted a copper one but wasn't willing to pay that much money, anything hollow will work, probably including one of the old Bic pens.
