well done man, what you say at the start is so true - a good cover is that artist's interpretation of that song, and if it sounds different, it makes it more interesting.
Wow, you did a really great job.. I just love this song even though I was like 4 yrs old when it came out LOL.. And you seem like a really nice guy too :-)
This is a beautiful song and the way you introduce it and understand it as a testament of one who has survived and moved past abuse is perfect. Nice work. -BPK
I've listened to this song MANY times over the years and it really resonated with me. My dad (aka "The Sperm Donor") abused me and this song was as if someone knew my heart and put the words to what I was going through.
In a strange way, I related to this song too. My natural father did not know me and did not care about me at all. I felt abused considering he knew and wanted a relationship with my three other siblings. The chorus was a mantra because it used to really bother me but it no longer mattered. Take Care.
Yes, the line "You can't hurt me now.... I never felt so good about myself" became very important to me. The first time I heard the song that line was not true for me, and the day it did, was wonderful.
Wonderful. When I sing (karaoke), I do the same thing with notes, especially if the song is too high. Even Madonna changes her own tune and arrangement when she's on the road.
Hearing it a bit different made it fresh for me. Almost made me tear.
Thanks. I have been in music pretty much all my life. I started dabbling into piano around 20 (I am 40 now). I play piano mostly by ear. I do compose and arrange music for all occasions. My wife is a musician so I write stuff for organ, piano and her handbell choir. Take Care.
That's nice. Wish I had a gf who was a musician :) I started playing about a year ago. Also by ear. I'm pretty alright for the time playing but I should practice more. Don't always make the time for it to do my exercises daily. Any recommendations?
I love your arrangement of this song. I believe when an artist plays the work of another he should make his own. Playing a song note for note and chord for chord is just mimicry.
I dont watch American Idol for just that reason. Trying to get 20 people to sing just like Freddie Mercury is disastrous and in my mind, disrespectful to his artistry.
thats funny, on the season Jennifer hudson was on American Idol, Simon told her she should go back to singing on cruise ships (she worked for Disney Cruises). I wonder if she remembers his remark after she won the Oscar? :)
thanx is stunning

Exact thing happened to me. It hurt like hell, but I now have moved on, just you probably have.
We can't hold up both ends of a relationship, nor should we have to.
Really, it's their loss.
Thank you Bambam. :) Hugs to you.

I like it better when people make it their own. I don't like photo copy music myself. And powerful song to pick.

Thanks. I always liked that song. Madonna has been hit and miss. Somtimes I like a song of hers and other times yuck.

LMAO I bother "purists" out there who expect an performance similar to the actual person. Only Madonna can be Madonna. Thanks for watching.

Unfortunately shows like American Idol kind push people to think that way. Don't get me wrong the show does a lot good entertaining. . .

True that! I was just being nice towards the show. But, all it does is develops a good singer to sing on cruise ships. . .
