I breed Australain Shepherds and have had some of the most amazing litters! My dogs are very versatile and not 'high maintenance' at all! They will just lay by me for days if that is what I want them to do.

They ran a TV ad here many years ago with a kid in a cowboy costume playing with the toilet with the theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly playing in the background. Weirdest ad I've seen, I think it was a brand of toilet disinfectant making it safe for kids to play in it.

My Aussie does the same thing with water bowls. Can't keep more than she drinks or she will "dig" it out all over the floor! Thank goodness she hasn't discovered the toilet yet :) Glad to see she's not the only one to do this though!

@AnnaTQ lol both of my aussies do the same thing with their waterbowls lol. My youngest one a little black tri female LOVES anything to do with the water. Turn on the sprinkler outside and OMG lol. We have a big plastic pool for them to play in, they live in the thing when outside lol.

This sooooo reminds me of my dog when he was a puppy. He was ALWAYS in the water dish just havin a good old time! Anywhere where there's water, he'd be right in it. Definatly a breed that likes water. Lived to be over 17 years old. I sure do miss him a lot.

Adorable. He looks so like my 1st blue merle as a pup when we lived in the States. Where did you get him from. Mine came from a friend who bought him in the Malibu pet store (poor baby) and originally from a suspicious mid west breeder! I have his pedigree but have never been able to trace his parents. The Aussies here in Sth Africa are different looking - more fluffy as pups and my younger blue merle has only one coat layer. Absolutely stunning but you would not know they were same breed!

Hi. I wonder how youve enjoyed this amazing breed? I was given one 8 yrs ago and were totally addicted. I would not say mine are high maintenance. Yes they need & deserve fun &exercise (they swim in the pool and go on hill walks or to the beach each day). Were home most of the day so theyre lucky. But Ive come across 2 black tris who were more active and hyper! They couldve worn me out! I bet you are totally in love. They are the most involved dog emotionally I know-nothing is like their love!

I have a blue merle aussie and he loves the water, too. But he just sticks to swimming in the pool and also drinking from it. He actually prefers the pool water to drinking water out of his bowl. Love them!

That is so typical of an Aussie. One of mine loves to dunk his toys in the water. The other one won't let anything float in the pool she has to take everything out even if someone is attached to it. I gotta get that on video someday

Aussies love to play with water. I hope you bathed yours after he did that. My dog, Nellie will take a front paw and splash the water in her bowl and get all wet in front. When she drinks she sets her nose on the rim of the bowl and licks the H20 because she doesn't like to get her nose wet. It looks funny as hell when she does it. I'll post it on YT one day.
