  • This man does not understand anything about economics and should stop talking. He makes things up and is a simpleton fool. He acts like government debt will kill you. Sorry folks, but it is not true and the world is not ending and the government is not out to get you.

  • Sucks

  • NAR is not looking out for your best interest. They are so full of shit its comming out their ears..Here it is spring 09 and market is still tanking...Houses are still way overpriced.

  • Glenn Beck has all the prejudices and biases of a middle-class white man who never found out what it was like to grow up poor and/or black. He's never had to overcome any real diversity. True, his family was actually relatively poor in the upscale area that he grew up in. But he never had to work in a factory or a mine. He's just a spoiled, privileged, middle-class midwest, redneck white bitch. He sits behind a desk all day and somehow comes off as a tough guy. Spectator masculinity. Consume it.

  • "This show doesn't deal with facts..." nuff said lol

  • You couldn't possibly be disputing what Beck is saying in this post, are you?? You took his lunch money when you were kids?? If you have a point, make it.

  • I think I took this guy's lunch money when we were kids.

  • A guy who can't pronounce REALTOR + a bunch of Realtor bashers (from California, of course, where else?) who have no idea what Realtors actually do FOR A LIVING = stupidity.

"Putting sold signs on neighboring houses that AREN'T SOLD to make you think people are buying"?! Woohooo! @@

  • "if you want honest advice about your (a) home don't listen to the people who are trying to make a living by selling them"

    Classic. Timeless. Honest!

  • I will contribute to the bailout fund if Henry (Hank) Paulson — U.S. Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO, and all-around bald guy ponies up the $200 million in capital gains tax he was exempt from having to pay. It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.

  • "If the American people ever allowed the banks to control the issuance of their currency, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property, until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers once occoupied."

    -Thomas Jefferson

  • Hmm....a guy who invites a nutty religious pastor to talk about our times as being the days of revelation and questioning an american citizen who became a U.S. Senator and asks him if he's on the same side as the U.S. simply because he's a muslim?.....yea, I would rather trust horseshit.:)

  • I just listed and sold a home in 4 days! It was bought in 1999 and made about 35k. It was a starter home mind you, but $35K is $35K. I probably could have sold it for more in 2005, but...

So, over 9 years that's $75,000 in rent (without escalations) saved. $54,000 dollars in interest deductions (you renters wouldn't understand) and $35,000 cash in my pocket.

So, given the inventory and interest rates, I still think real estate is a good long term hold. Not to mention you get to live in it!

  • These issues were evident during the bubble, and well into 2006 and 2007. For him to come along all the sudden on this represents just how far behind the curve the media has been and how the public has been hurt by their inability to analyze market mechanics.

While it is nice they are finally seeing the reality, its a little too late.

Love how people refuse to accept the reality even to this day though.

  • This guy is just trying to get ratings anyway. Why are we listening to him? Oh yeah, believe what he says so he gets more viewers - he's just trying to sensationalize to get ratings. Talk about having a hidden agenda.

  • Dont forget giving house tours. Realtors were not made accountable enough for misleading the public sheep about the RE bubble. Now it's deflating-they claim its not. Worse, they use fraud tactics such as MLS re-listing as "new", putting "SOLD" signs on neighboring houses that aren't sold (to make you think others are buying).Group bus foreclosure tours for mini bidding wars.LYING about "another offer" on a house you want-to get you to raise your offer. Colluding with appraisers. The list goes on.

  • Right on man. Look up "panic peddlers" in Chicago. You will love it. They made a ton of money off of racist fears.

  • Real Estate is LOCAL, some areas are increasing in value, ask people in areas of Texas where prices are still going up. It depends upon the individual market. This guy is a boob. So would you listen to an electrician if he tells you to rewire your house because of a potential fire hazard? He's in the business of selling his product. What about a doctor who says you need an operation? Don't listen to him because he's just going to make money off you. Yeah, don't listen to professionals STUPID.

  • God we've heard your tired crap for years. Housing has risen 1% above inflation for 100 years (FACT dumbass) and now it is dropping like crazy...and STYILL dumbasses like you keep spouting your garbage. You are a typical Realtor lying to your grave. Believing that your very protest will somehow change the fact that your career is over. Get a real job and do something truly productive.

Soon Realtors will be replaced with coin operated machines...imagine that...no lying scumbags.

  • Awesome post! 100% agree. I'm tried of these worthless middlemen who are just IN THE WAY. We looking for a house and are being forced to deal with these lairs. They all say: "There was never a bubble in this area" and of course now ALWAYS is the best time to buy. I wonder how they sleep at night. I hate all of them. Worthless. Arrogan. They act like doctors or lawyers or somthing. Give me a break. The Internet should have eliminated them by now. Somehow like newspapers they still linger on.

  • I personally think that 99% of the realtors out there dont know anything about real estate they just saw someone make some money and they jumped on the band wagon.

I am constently buying homes from realtors who thought they were investors who know nothing about real estate!!

  • Imagine going to the bank and asking, "I'd like to open an account for minus (-)$100K". After years of deposits adding up to $100K you will have $0 in the account. Silly isn't it? Well that is exactly what you will be doing if you bought a house right now. Maybe a little more, or a little less, but either way doesn't sound too good does it?The Local Media Is Lying To You

  • Way to go Glenn Beck. Every economist in the country was warning about the real estate bubble except the shills from the real estate industry.

I can't think of anything more cruel than for a real estate agent to sell an overpriced home to someone all for the sake of a commission.

Some people have had to learn the hard way, that you can't trust a real estate sales

According to the real estate pitch it's always a good time to buy. When is it good time to sell? Buyer beware!

  • Why do we keep hearing that RE has gone down17% - but nobody is talking about the 250% that it went up over the last 10 years? In California the market will continue to drop possibly another 30-40%. Lets get Real.

Glen Beck knows what he is talking about!

The person Below must be a RE Agent, Loan Rep or upside down on their house after pulling out all the equity! Ha ha...

    Mr T.

  • One may not like Glenn Beck's antics, but what he said is very true.

  • Thanks for keepin' it real Glenn. Always nice to see someone who doesn't sling all the spin.

    God bless you richly!

    Jordan Goode-Mulson

  • and 3 and 5 A.M

  • the sad thing is that real estate is going to end up being free for those who hold it. The federal government is steering towards hyperinflation and anyone that has a mortgage will eventually have their debt wiped out by massive inflation.

  • No let's listen to GREENSPAN who works for PIMPCO, a hedge fund, which made drillions from shorting financials. He shows up on Maria Buttaroma's show on Faux News and bombs the economy he helped trash!

Fact is, the Carolina's, Tennessee, Alabama, most of Florida DIDN'T participate in homes doubling, and they are STILL marching up at four to six % a year.

The sane players, google them are in the sane parts of the USA.

  • We are not fooled by you neo-cons. We know the Iranian government is more than questionable, but they are nowhere near the threat of our own government. Copy and paste your Bush lies and gibberish elsewhere.

  • I only wish the U.S would actually do something to help you other than sanctions which only hurt the Iranian people but do nothing to harm Ahmedinijad and his cabal

  • Hi Glenn I am also 71warrior4jesus both site serve our Jesus

  • There are like 3 million empty houses. It'll probably take 2-3 years for everything to be substantially cleaned up.

  • I love Glenn Beck and his staff. They get it right and straight to the point. The only commentary show on cable worth watching, BTW.

  • I'm so glad Glenn is making fun of Lereah. That jackass made a fortune off of convincing people to buy overpriced real estate, and not enough media attention goes towards NAR and their fraudulent propaganda.

  • > I'm so glad Glenn is making fun of Lereah.

    > That jackass made a fortune off of convincing

    > people to buy overpriced real estate, and not

    > enough media attention goes towards NAR and

    > their fraudulent propaganda.

    Beck is EIGHT YEARS late.

You know what other book Lereah wrote?

"The Rules for Growing Rich: Making Money in the New Information Economy"

Go look when that was published, and what it was about.

  • Regrettably I missed the real estate boom.

  • Don't feel so bad. You're also missing the bust.

  • Glenn is dead on! I'm so damn mad I can't see straight! I'm now putting a fine edge on my nice new pointy pitchfork!

  • Hmm...31% of america rents...apparently they are bad people because when housing prices suffer, the politicos compell them at the force of Gov't to pay their tax money to artificially raise the price of homes...where can I buy a pitchfork?

  • I get puny litte governmental disability checks and live off food stamps and food banks. Heck, even people like ME might be able to afford a home soon, if house prices keep plummetting at this rate!

  • Thanks for this very public and very brutal criticism of some very deserving people. We need more accountability like this in the media. If you make predictions that go horribly awry, then you deserve to be lampooned as either a liar or a fool.

  • Jim Cramer anyone?

  • Yeah, like Iraq?

  • Does this mean I can NOW afford to buy a house in southern California?

  • not yet. give it another year and then all the houses will be free, and you will have a 24 hour wait in the emergency room because Obama will have socialized everything.

    You rock Glenn

  • Obama promises change and that is what we will get. After all the tax increases, all we will have left is the change in our pockets.

  • > Obama promises change and that is what we

    > will get. After all the tax increases, all we

    > will have left is the change in our pockets.

It doesn't really matter who you elect. There is no significant or meaningful difference between Obama or McCain.

But go ahead and bitch about the trivial bullshit differences between them, if it makes you believe we actually do live in a democracy.

  • I guess you believe something else, fuzzywzhe.

  • > I guess you believe something else, fuzzywzhe.

    Obviously.

I live in a nation of morons, I just have to accept that.

  • Sadly I'm seeing an eerie similarity to the Japanese housing crisis near the end of the 80's. Instead of a sharp drop, we could be in for a 15 year long trickle.

  • where's my pitch fork?!?!
