Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think thread lock is effective at all when you use a nylon nut. Threat lock only becomes active when it makes metal to metal contact and with the air the removed.
@garthqueen I have the dewalt equivalent, and the milwaukee tool in this vid. The dewalt can't hold a candle to the milwaukee, torque wise. Cheaper, though. (DeWALT DW059K-2). 250 US Dollars; not sure how many British pounds! If you just take off your car lug nuts & such, the dewalt does the job great.
I was gonna get a milwaukee a few years ago,but after reading of probs with thier lith-ion batteries,i shied away to dewalt.They seem like a good make though...should be for the money too!
Got too dewalt combi's now and four batts,so always on the look out for bare tools.
Both makes are silly money over here,but ive learned that cheap stuff is just no good,esp power tools.
Request. If you ever get time to do it that is :) Torque a bolt up to 210nm and also use threadlock.
The reason I ask is a LR Defender hubnut is torqued to that amount and my Clarke cordless, rated at 400nm, doesn't even nearly shift it, so would be interested in a real world test.
No Problem, I try to be as honest as possible when reviewing tools because I would hate it if someone bought a tool that I thought was OK and they thought it was useless!
Thank you for doing this review. Reason why I asked you to do it was so that I can decide on whether to get a Snap-On impact wrench or this one. I think this one is a lot more powerful than the Snap-On one and not forgetting it is a lot cheaper too.
Wow 610 NM? Atleast I know what NM stands for now! I use the ryobi one+ range and my impact wrench has 265 NM. Thanks for the vid!
P.s When are you gonna do a vid on installing a toilet? If you do, I'm sure you'll be the first on youtube to do a uk one, I can't find one, only American one's. Cheers.
LOL, it is that powerful it will either undo them or shear them off!
I have used a cordless impact wrench in the past to shear rusted M18 bolts and the impact wrench I used had no where near 610NM of torque like this beauty ;-)
No Benny, I used thread locking compound. It is used to "glue" a nut onto a bolt to prevent it from coming off from vibration etc. Shutdown is when the chemical plant where I work closes down for two weeks to perform maintenance on the machinery.

@mxlu
It still works on Nylocks as the air is removed (which makes it set)

Quality videos as always.
What would be be DeWalt's equivalent of this? Have got the drills but no impact wrench.
many thanks!

@garthqueen
Thanks.
I think the Dewalt DW059 has over 400NM of torque, not sure if they make a more powerful one than that though!

@ultimatehandyman PS...some "Parkside" power tools hitting the shelves at LIDL tomorrow (9th Jan),inc jigsaw and hammer drill (corded).
Gonna take a chance on the drill as a cheap backup to the cordless...!

If I get chance I will try it no problem, I'll add it to my list ;-)

@ultimatehandyman Cheers mate, appreciated. I am sick of buying power tools that don't live upto expectation, so your videos do really help.

Maybe one day this kind of tool will have variable torque adjustment. Great review - thanks.

@mrdavidurquhart
Yes, that would be very useful. The only bad thing about this machine is that you can easily over tighten fasteners.
Thanks for the comment ;-)
