Hello there, Nice video. I'm planning a taking a rather large Special Olymics group for a ride on the Shimanami Kaido. I was wondering, the bridge seems fairly safe for the cyclists but, I've heard that the "off the bridge" parts. Like on the islands is a little scary. How was it for you folks. Thanks!!
@frankinhiro@frankinhiro I did this ride 6 years ago so my memory may not be perfect. I don't recall feeling the off-bridge part was particularly dangerous in terms of traffic. No worse than typical rural Hiroshima-ken. I do recall noticing that the route signs on the north half of the route weren't as good as in the south so keep your eyes peeled or have a pre-loaded GPS track to follow. Good luck on your ride!
