Randy's solos were not impossibly technical. They sound so great because he thought out every note . It's like a song within a song. There are plenty of guys who smoke Randy technically, but noone could write music like he could.

pratice pratice and pratice anything you can find. Thry to tackle something that you think is just out of your reach as a musician and learn it. Oh and also learn theory. It isnt as hard as people think. just alot of memorasation. You can teach yoursealf things that you hrar in songs, and solos. But it does help to have a instructor. Good luck
