Hey joceeco, your words touch my heart. Being white myself, but having been in black music for twenty years and being around black people from all contintents all the time, I feel the same way. You know I went to Angola with my Angolan wife and daughter two years ago, and it felt like coming home. It's crazy, I think I will emigrate there. Africa is the past and the future! Good luck on your journey!

People I talk to, White, Black and other have this deep desire to visit or live in Africa. Why is this so? Because Africa is the birthplace of mankind, and we all long to go home to the place of our creation at some point in our lives. I am African American and I have a great life in America, but my heart longs for another place, and I think that place is AFRICA.
@joceeco Than stop wasting your time and move to Africa. Btw we don't know the birthplace of mankind since we don't know even the time of birth of mankind. For now it's believed to be in Africa. That's all. But not that long ago we thought the Earth is flat and that it's the center of the Universe which is spinning around it .... :-D
So much talent, so much potential, We as African Americans should be investing so much more of our time and financial resources in Africa. I really believe that the lack of investment by those of us taken out of Africa, is limiting our Motherland's progress!
Please, Negro - Africa's problems are for AFRICANS to deal with. I couldn't care less about that place or about Africans in general. Charity begins at home. I am only interested in investing my resources in people who are just like me (AA women, AAs in general). *smile*
Seriously, negroes like you aren't any different from the ones who worship non-blacks. Both of you are quick to put somebody else over African Americans (not to mention how yall both beg for acceptance).
@regi989 'I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.' ~Booker T. Washington. I am sorry you have hatred in your heart. You, unfortunately, will never be as happy as those who love themselves, truly, and therefore can love others. I am white, though colour or origin will not make me hate a person. I wish you happiness and wisdom.
@joceeco Do you not find that it's insulting to talk about Africa in terms of 'investment'. Everyones so obsessed with money. I'd say leave Africa alone...this is nothing personal, but the only thing America is concerned when it comes to Africa is extraction and the formentation of persistant wars so that the people cannot defend their lands from corporate rape. Jonas Savimbi is the legacy of the US in Angola if I'm not mistaken.African needs us to boot out our colonial western leaders. Peace
@MarioSavioTZM I don't really think that the investment Joceeco was writing about was meant to be insulting... I think he was talking from a more personal/intimate perspective, than from a capitalistic one. More about oneself, and what people can achieve if they come together, not about what they can take. I think this was not really about America for Joceeco, but more about Africa. You have made great and positive points, but I do not believe Joceeco meant to insult anyone, or land.
@MissRebeccaUpton No and my comment was not meant to be personal or attacking him... just saying the language of money is sickening to some. The richness of Africa's music is far more likely to remain in tact if it is not commercialized. I for one do not like globalization under the banner of consumerism and zombification of people : )
