@algrand90 The one-handed legato technique is considered an advanced technique. It demands a lot of technical execution in your left (or fretting) hand. Aside from that, the lick itself is merely a simple sequence in a minor key.
@DarrenDonohoeguitar True? Sometimes I pick up another guitar and play on another amp and I cant get any legato tone. Think u need good pickups quality, set em high and have an amp with huge distortion.
Its a 'canon hg 10'....i didn't know how to use it properly in this vid but if you check my more recent ones its a v good camera. bout 500-600 dollars i'd say but well worth it! :D
If you guys want a real legato lesson check out Marshall Harrison's lesson on legato. This is not legato.

That's not legato, those are hammer-ons and pull-offs. Legato is hammer-ons only. Haven't you ever heard of Allen Holdsworth?
seth3556r 10 months ago
@seth3556r Legato is a musical term denoting ''to play smoothly''. So long as the tonal quality is there, it would be considered legato.

do you really need to put your picking hand over the neck like that.
8stringerr 2 years ago
It makes it sound cleaner.
DrWillumz 2 years ago
yes, hes baring the fifth fret and it mutes the "pull off" sounds when he changes strings
keidai3 2 years ago
@8stringerr its to steady the neck it makes it easier to do
cmac2415 1 year ago
@cmac2415 its more a steve vai trick that looks flashy onstage for dampening the strings so theres no unwanted noise
