She says that the expression is more direct if you use the visual. So dressing up is essential. She never leaves the visual impression to chance, not even for interviews. She uses themes, often fear to create the audio. (One fear she has came with motherhood and not being able to be there for the baby.) She does not want her private person do gain focus as it has nothing to do with the music and would distract from the music.
