Bazooka Limon won this fight because he was the tougher man--his chin was made of steel--not because of some dubious claim about his hand-wraps. Give the guy some credit, he fought the best of the best and gave 'em all hell. He asked for no quarter and gave none. He was an awkward, dirty fighter but he was world class and his record speaks for itself: World Champion. 'Nuf said.

After Navarette got out of prison sometime in 1988, he would exact revenge against Limon. But I think the most damage done against Navarette was made by Tae-Jin Moon who stopped him 2 times late in his career.

It would soon be reported that Navarette was picked to fight Limon rival Bobby Chacon for the vacant United States Boxing Association-International (USBAI) World Jr. Lightweight Championship. This will not materialize because Navarette would be imprisoned. The USBA-I would then be renamed the IBF.
