  • One reason thier bad.

    RAPID FIRE POOPIN

  • That part when she said "Oh she loves you!" made me go AWWW. I'm trying to convince my mom that domestic rats aren't like the wild ones, she she doesn't seem to like them.

  • but why is she so happy??? D:

  • :) All my rats are litter trained :)

  • Evolutionary speaking, rats are more similar to humans than cats or dogs. What many humans do to rats is discrimination.

  • A beautiful woman explaining how great rats are...im buying some =)

  • So true! I used to have two rats (they have passed on). They are the most amazing pets! Most people do not realize how loyal, sweet, and affectionate they are. They take just a little bit of care and give back so much.

  • how do you train them to pee on a litter box?

  • My Mommy HATE them but I LOVE them and I wish me one so much!

  • OMFG THERE IS A RAT RESCUE CENTER I WANT TO VOLUNTEER ASAP OMG CUTE OMG I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!

  • ...I'd hit it.

  • @Badboy4c1 Having sex with rats is illegal its called bestiality.

  • @LupDomnitor I see what you did there.

  • I really want a rat!!!

  • Pet rats are Norwegian rats, street rats are a different genus; saying street rats and pet rats are the same is like saying a poodle is the same as a hyena; sure they're both canines but worlds apart.

Pet rats are very cute and can be incredibly loving. They don't smell like mice do, and can be litter trained and to come when they are called. I have owned pet rats for over 5 years now and love them so much. My little dog loves them to and plays with them :)

  • @Mannyjen This is incorrect. The common street rat is, in fact, the norway rat. Pet store rats have been purpose bred for docility, but they are the same species of rat as those you'd see in a New York City subway.

  • Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if they could be litter trained. I'd love to have one or two, but I really don't care for the idea of having rats pooing all over the place. If you don't mind my asking, could you tell me what kind of litter is best for them - cat litter or shaved wood?

  • @NaturalRepublic kitty litter is bad for them because it tends to have a lot of dust (bad for sensitive little lungs) and added stuff like deoderizers. You can use aspen shavings or recycled paper litter of you want to get fancy, but rats don't need litter really because they don't bury their poo. For me, I would just use a plastic litterbox with nothing in it, then rinse and flush the contents down the toilet before bed each night. Super eco-friendly and easy to clean.

  • @meathena Thank you. 8^)

  • I LOVE rats to death. My pet rat Vannessa recently passed away due to lung cancer and it has been really hard without her. I don't see how people can hate rats.

  • The only downside is they live up to 2 years, maybe 3 if you're lucky. :(

  • My mom won,t let me get a rat sometimes I think she likes my brother more and it's Christmas 😥😓😢😭😂😪

  • Darthdea Like your video. Are yours free range?. We have 6 rats and they have never been in a cage. They never run away cos they like being with you. I get lots of kisses andcuddles and they even hold my hand. So sweet. Great pets. Good luck and God bless all animals

  • did you know that rats can kill humans?

  • @TrueBlueCanuck, Did you know that dogs and cats have a higher risk of killing their owners? lol stfu.

  • @wendyXpeggyXpancho cats and dogs are pets rats are a like roaches NOT PET,YOU STFU

  • @TrueBlueCanuck, LOL! Im pretty sure they are pets. Maybe because I have 5 and MILLIONS of other people too. I don't know much about cactuses, but I know enough to know that your a PRICK!

  • @TrueBlueCanuck How would your know? Have you ever owned a rat?

  • @ratgrl98 if i did i would be dead by now because rats carry fleas that have the black death deseas

  • @TrueBlueCanuck Not these rats. These rats aren't street rats, these rats are sweet, smart and incredibly clean rats. Dogs carry far more diseases than pet rats. Get your facts right and learn to spell.

  • @ratgrl98 ok since you don't get it,i give up.Another thing who the fuck are you my english teacher?

  • @TrueBlueCanuck No, YOU don't get it. Try and have an open mind! Well, no, but I'd sure hate to be. Why are you watching rat videos anyway? If you hate them and think they are disease carrying animals, why watch videos why rats make great pets?

  • @TrueBlueCanuck

Suuuuuurrrrreeeee they can, if you pick em' up off the street maybe. Get your fuckin facts straight

  • @SuperBass053 those are facts,rats are evil

  • @TrueBlueCanuck

Tell yourself that, I think someone whose had one would no more than a dumbass mothafucka.

  • i have street rats outside. they killed my neighbors pet chihuaha -_-

  • @leanathelamb lol those are street rats, not bred by hand rats

  • @leanathelamb oshit

  • You're an angel!

  • about her number 1: the rat was kept alone in a glass cage. both big NO's for rats. They need rat company and a wire cage to climb.

  • @rathmiron She was my first rat back in 1994, and I had to learn everything on my own without guidance back then (not a lot of internet sites dedicated to rat care back then). We've learned a lot in the past 18 years, haven't we?

  • Yeah little pocket dogs in a way very social and smart.

A shame that being so small their life is short but well that is the price the owner has to pay.

  • I have pet rats and adore them. They are clean, loving and clever and make great pets. But you have to keep them in clean dust and fume free conditions or they will get lung sickness. They can also catch colds and flu from us so be careful.

  • @shamusoz wut? they can????? wow.

  • shes just as nasty as rats...

  • Fantastic video! It's true, everything you've said.

  • wow, you are beautiful

  • can someone please help me my dumbo rats hate me they wont let me pick them up i can just about stroke them thats about it please help

  • @lesleyGW: How old were they when you got them and did you try to pick them up right from the start? Usually when you get young rats you give them some treats the first day and very quickly they will notice you are not going to hurt them and you can start playing with them, pick them up, turn them on their back (that is a gesture a dominat rat will do to show the other rats they are the boss. In this case YOU are the boss obviously ;)) and so on.

  • DO YOU NEED TWO please respond :)

  • @rowntreesmith Yes, 2 of the same sex. These are very social animals and even though you as a human can give the rat lots of attention, you can never provide it with the language and physical closeness that it would get with another rat.

So, never keep rats alone unless the rat itself wants to live alone. I had a rat like that, she hated to share her bed and cage.

  • @rowntreesmith Yeah.i would totally recommend getting two. Again, like someone else said, the same sex. I mean, unless you want dozens and dozens of rats :P this is one animal that truly needs another one of its kind to keep it company. to sleep with. to groom. to play with. they will be very very happy being your pets if you pair them up! rats are a trip! you'll love em. like any pet, you'll have to do a little potty training, and poop scooping at first. its cool after they get used to it

  • @rowntreesmith Yes please, of the same sex :-)

  • I'm trying to convince let me get rats. I think I can use this vid as my 'ammunition'.

  • o cute ya my little eric knows his name i cant believe some people hate rats!

  • @JCFilms13 same

  • can u with mice

  • @akidlikeme Rats don't like mice.

  • @Anon36912 Sometimes. Male are worse about it than females. My female actually lived with my two mice from the day I got her as a 3 week old pup to about 6 months old when I got her another rat companion. Also, female rats are often used to nurse abandoned mice pups as they are great foster mothers. These mice can even live with their rat moms their whole lives. All in all, introduce a rat to a mouse when it is a very young pup and it will be friends with no problem at all

  • i wish a rat would eat my mum , then i would be able to get one !!!

  • @southyskimboarders I just finally went out and got one myself. I already had mice tho, and my mom may not know the difference truth be told :P

  • i want to give one of those furry little pieces disease carrying shits to my tegu lets so who would win

  • @jacobandjakob1 Dogs and cats carry far more diseases than domesticated rats.

  • @AmberLouMakeup That's some serious bullshit. No veterinarian would be able to stand for that.

I've had both dogs and cats and rats my entire life and never been sick, so..yeah, that just sounds like some stupid idea Rat owners that can't handle that people don't like their pet of choice makes up.

Oh btw, loads of people don't like dogs or cats either..so why this constant need to defend yourselves all the time? Just have rats and be happy.

  • @Bastarden I have cats, dogs and rats too and I've never caught anything from them either. I'm just stating a true fact. If you look it up on the National Health Centre for Infectious Diseases, you'll see that 15 diseases are listed for dogs and cats, while domesticated rodents only carry 2. I know some people don't like cats or dogs either. Are you saying if someone called a breed of dog you own, a disease carrying piece of shit that should be euthanized you wouldn't defend that breed?

  • @AmberLouMakeup Very true, but that could be because Dogs and Cats go outside a lot but you wouldn't take your rats outside really, if you did you wouldn't let them run around on the ground in case they were too adventurous and wandered off.

  • I love my rats!!!

  • thank you for this video. I'm going to show it to my landlord, he thinks rats are a bad idea, that they'll freak out the other tenants, so he's not letting me have them. rats are awesome! :D

  • thank you guys! I'm soooo glad some people love rats! It's soo sad that so many people hate rats when they haven't even given them chance!! Oh well! That's the society we live in and we have to accept it! Besides...MORE RATS FOR ME!

  • @Izzy61634 I know it is sad I wish more people had rats as pets but its sometimes funny when your holding your pet rat outside and people see the rat.

  • @Izzy61634 most people who hate rats, never seen one close enough! And the fear is irrational, since they are harmless. Okay, once they were responsible for spreading deadly diseases. But that is passed. Today there are still diseases, in STREET rats, but all treatable. And besides, it is easier for a dog, walking with bare feet in the filthy streets, in contact with all kinds of dirt, bring disease into the house, than a mouse who lives most of the time in a cage. *sorry if my english is wrong*

  • @Izzy61634 I am trying to convince my mother to let me get a rat, but she is soo convinced they will be like my guinea pigs. She also views them as disgusting creatures just like most of the public! Aren't rats more sociable than guinea pigs in most cases?

  • I want one so bad!!!!

  • I love rats! I have three rats an one is on the way. =)

  • i have two :)

  • ill buy some for my snake

  • @SJ9765 thats mean :(

  • I have rats and mice and i love they both, they are so freacking awesome. People should stop fearing them, they are totally harmless :S

  • How true little little dogs you can put in a pocket or small bag and take with you.

  • I love rats! Not so much mice, but I love rats!

  • Rats are awesome!!!!! i have 10!! & im going to be a fosterer soon too :)

  • Yay, I hope they all find great homes!
