There was a video of a male belly dancer up here a year or so ago, can't remember his name, but I can't find him. He was sooo good that he could split his rib cage in opposite directions and some other amazing moves I haven't seen any of these other guys do. If anybody thinks they know which video I'm referring to please let me know where to find it! He was very very slender compared to some of the male dancers.

what is amazing is to see how crippled this performance is. an absolute personification of the conflict between this dancer's naturally effeminate self and the imposed societal homophobic masculinization. the excessive contrived muscularity of the upper body has totally truncated the middle torso ( the belly and waist ) where the art of belly dancing is focused. there is no movement. His concealed real nature by the imposed homophobic musculature paralized his desired expression: belly dancing.

It's so unfortunate there are so many hateful comments. To some, this may not seem like belly dancing, to others, it most certainly does. Clearly, the audience that came just to see him, think he is a great dancer. It looks like he is having a lot of fun and dances with passion. It takes a lot of courage to do what he does and I applaud that. I can only dream of dancing to a full audience and getting paid for it like he does!

His name is Mosbah. He's become a celebrity in Beirut because of his belly dancing. He isn't a professional. He would go to a nightclub, as a client only, and dance like that. This was an eye opener to other guests as male belly dancing is uncommon in Beirut. Other clients enjoyed his show whenever Mosbah decided it's showtime! Hence some nightclub (like the one in the clip) owners decided to employ him as part of their show. Makes people wanna come to the nightclub and watch Mosbah belly dance!
