This is indeed one of the best films ever made. Spot the very young Pierce Brosnan? Just watched it twice, on two consecutive nights, and could watch it yet again. The final three minutes are a fantastic bit of acting by Bob Hoskins. Just that tight shot of his face and he conveys everything without uttering a word.
I loved this movie. I found it different from other gangster films in that it shows one side of Harold, with his yacht and his legit businesses, then the side where he's with his low-class cronies, talking nasty, slicing up some poor shnooks.
I think that in Britain in 1982, a cockney-accented guy with his own yacht would've raised eyebrows with the authorities.
Yeah, Too much mockney. It's worse around Hoxton and up to Shorditch. Frank Monkman scored this film and it's the best of it's kind. The East-End went years ago.
the director of sexy beast apparently rips off the bit when harolds walking through the airport lounge, with don logan doing the same.both great films.
Oi Bertie Big Bollocks...What a prick you are... You can't but a studio flat for that where I live you mug..I've spunked more than that on the horses.. I suppose you're really still living at home with your mum you si...
It took you one whole week to come up with that lame reply? Let's face it, you're going to be living on government handouts for the whole of your pathetic life.
Well done. My shares hit the skids yesterday so I lost half of Dubai. But it was the poor half. I went straight to my broker and he advised me to sell my shares in LIDL. I did and now own London Zoo !!!!
The best British film ever, alongside "The Italian Job". "Lock Stock..." and "Snatch" are great, but they will never quite match this masterpiece.

@tonystower None of those films including this are as good as 'Get Carter'

when they first made it, it was going to be a TV series (BBC?)
But they realized how great it was and just made it into a film.
And yes, one of the best ever made.

This version of the song is really decadant and illustrative of his character, just before the fall :) But the end has the better one.

Even in 1982 the police had to have evidence to put you in prison.
